Yes, most likely for the 40th time. Nesmith bailed out early on.

Yeah. They updated his obituary ... "Three of the band's original members - Jones, Dolenz and Tork - reunited together last year to play a series of gigs"

That's a shame, I never missed the TV series and own all their records. I loved Auntie Grazelda and Gonna Buy Me A Dog.

All before my time first time round (I'm a believer was number one when I was born) but I recall seeing repeats when I was a kid.

What?! Nobody has yet posted the link to the Monkees recording that Davy is most associated with?

Okay, then allow me...

Interestingly, that show's producers financed "Easy Rider" and "Five Easy Pieces" with the profits from the Monkees tv show. Also, Jack Nicholson has writing credits for the Monkees' movie "Head".

Piece of trivia. David Bowie (born David Jones) changed his stage name so he wouldn't be confused with Davy Jones.

The way it was told on one of the Monkeeys bio shows I saw was that Nicholson and Ralfson, ripped them off with that crap Head movie and then used the money to make Easy Rider.

I loved their cover of the Tom Waits classic "Take the Last Train to Nelson" on their Warm Beer & Cold Women album. Many years later I made that dream come true.

Really

cheer up sleepy jean, oh what can it mean to a daydream believer and a home comming queen. RIP Davy, there are some girls that are crying their eyes out i am sure. what kinda bothers me a little is that for weeks now we have heard over and over again about houston ( a drug addict that never wrote a song) but Davey was just a blip on the news and was a guy that hasnt really stopped working since we first heard his name. oh well i guess the powers that be want us to care about drug addicts and not pay any attention to someone that never caused any controversy and was a real stand up person, someone that a child might aspire to be like. naaaaaa we wouldnt want that we would rather our children be like M.J. or W.H.......dead before 50

Wiki has a good bio on Davey. He comes across as a good fella. I missed both chances that I had to see him. The first, he was performing by himself in the early 80s at a local bar. I had to work. The second, the first Monkees reunion tour, they performed at a bigger town just north of me. I was totally flat broke. But my ditsey 15 year old cousin and her girlfriends got to go. Really bummed me out, like she could appreciate who the Monkees were. I watched them from a few hundred feet away in between some parked semi trailers. Looked like they were having a good time.
