Question from a newby with a "new" 2004 America.
I've seen an adjustable front brake lever from several online sellers with part number CC-036 or BCC-036 or MCBCC-036 who variously say it is for all Bonnevilles, Americas, ect., or just 2005 and up, or for 2007 to 2010, and one on eBay says it fits 2009 only. Info at bikebandit on the OEM brake lever for a 2004 says the OEM lever fits only up to serial number 210261 (my 04 is 194540).
Has anyone tried this adjustable lever on a 2004 America or earlier or does anyone know if there were changes after 2004 that would make brake levers not interchangeable among years?

Been wondering the same thing myself with my Speedmaster. I know our stock levers are not adjustable, I am not so sure that we couldnt replace them with adjustable ones.

I bought a pair of adjustable levers from another member on this site last month. I have an 02 America. The brake lever fit without a problem. The clutch lever needed to be fitted to an 09 America housing. So I bought one of those and that worked out too. Go to bike bandit and look at the part numbers for the brake/master cylinder housing. If those remain the same between the 04 America and the year the lever is advertised to fit then you can be pretty sure it will work.
Just in case make sure you can return it.

The seller of an adjustable lever answered my question with:
"Although, there are multiple OEM part numbers for the various style bonnevilles, americas, speedmasters...the actual brake pump assembly that is fitted to each of these bikes, has remained the same. The part number differences come from the parts being made with different options, i.e. polished, chromed, adjustable, non-adjustable, etc. Regardless of the actual part number, the fitment remains that same."
I am watching an OEM lever first, but will probably order his adjustable if I don't get the OEM. His shipping is high, but even so the total is about the cost of a new OEM from a dealer and I don't have to drive 150 miles to get it.

I put on the Joker Machine levers even though mine were already adjustable. No issues.
