Long-time, no-hear Stewe, February doldrums got you eh? We've gained an hour of light in Montana, must be about the same on your side of the planet. Keep you chin up young man Did I hear you say Harley, don't let the rest of the riff-raff hear that jh

Would you like to borrow some global warming for your neck of the woods there?
Sorry bro I couldn't resist. Afella could use a snow mobile around there.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

no global warming in northern Japan this year! Unless global warming has melted the polar ice caps and we all will be swimming in a few months! We are getting railed this year!
I would love to get my Polaris out and running but these tours are just for a few years and things are crazy in Japan when it comes to cost of things. I will just wait to I get back but you're right...a Polaris and a foot of snow can be ALMOST as much fun as taking our Trumpets down the road!

Looks like Misawa! We always went there in Feb & March. I always found ways to go to Kadena and Cubi Point. Nothing like the cold from Siberia and the humidity from the Pacific.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

That man knows Japan...you are correct!! I will say this...we got a lot of snow but it is pristine powder and it is warm! This much snow and you would think we would be in frostbite conditions but it generally stays in the 25-35 degree window constantly. The Aomori prefecture is pretty gorgeous especially for riding; we just have to put up with this white crap for a few months out of the year!

Wow, that looks like a nice place. I'll put it in my book of places to visit.
Any mountains in your area? This weather and the fluffy stuff would be great for skiing!
I miss skiing.... I replaced it with surfing. Kinda the same, except the mountain is moving, and I get to wear board shorts instead of a fully decked suit, boots, gloves.....
I'm just south of you. No snow around here, except on the highest mountains.... and riding all year (sorry...)

People from all around travel to this part of Japan to ski; it really is world famous and it is pretty common to see a bunch of Australians living over here through the winter just for the skiing and snowboarding. Mainland Japan is incredibly mountainous. I am up in the Aomori prefecture which is the furthest northern prefecture in mainland Japan; just across the channel is Hokkaido. These pictures here are a buddy and I making a run to Tappi, Japan last fall. Google it maps and you will see it is one of the fingers that shoot up right under Hokkaido. It is really beautiful up here you would not be let down if you were to make a vacation out of it.
Riding through the first mountain pass to get to the coast:

The rest are of Tappi, Japan as the ride was too good to stop for pics

the land mass across the water is Hokkaido:
