its the distressed brown leather, I got it because its supposed to be softer than the regular hand tooled seats with flames............. I think its too dull............ I'm thinking of returning it and getting black with flames, what do yall think? Threw in a gratuitous pic of harley and Ghia PS: the seat fits perfect, I don't believe there are any changes for 2011 as far as seat fitment

I have to pay a 15% re-stocking fee to Brent, so I'm out $60, and I need to pay an additional $100 to upgrade.

How about the darker brown of the Brown with flames Low profile seat? I'm leaning towards this versus the Black with flames

I like it. Um, both. I like the saddle tan better though. Want something like that with my bulldog avatar carved or stitched into it.

Nice seat, & nice vehicles. All of them.
If it were my seat, I'd keep it.

can't you rub it down with a leather treatment or saddle soap and get a bit of a sheen to it?

Yes, I'm looking in to how to make it a darker shade, does anyone know how to do this to distressed leather?

if you oil the seat it will get darker a bit at a time to a certain extent. If you want it allot darker then get some leather dye and add just a little bit of it at a time to your oil and oil the seat again, you can control how dark it gets from that point, the only downside to this is depending on how much darker you want to go (other then black) you may end up with a little bit of that patina (spelling?) look to it, you know that sort of weathered marble streaky look, which for some including me is a cool look, but to each their own. Start with a really good oil first and see what you get and go from there. Just like a new tan baseball glove after a season, it looks nowhere near as light as the day ya took it home, its skin afterall and will get darker with age.
not sure iof that helps at all.

Sure do any place that sell tack for horses will have a darkening oil used on saddles. We have used it on my girls saddles with success just get the good stuff not the cheap.

It looks good as is....as it ages, it will generate its own unique patina. If you oil it, will it leave funny marks on your pants when you sit on it for a ride?

Thanks for the tips, I returned it for a set of black Ikon shocks, these low profile seats, tho beautiful are just 2 uncomfortable for me. I just ordered the Triumph gel solo seat instead, that with the new shocks should make for a great comfortable ride!
