A friend of mine sent me this link as this group is working hard to get the stories out. As a father of two sons, I can only imagine the demons that come to him to haunt him at night. I hope he has some solace knowing that when others were running as fast as they could away from a situation, his boys were running as fast as they could to get to that situation and help others. God Bless them.

I don't know how many of you guys have a relationship with your son that allows you to say I Love You as often as possible. I fortunately do and always will. My Son spent 3 back to back tours in the worst part of Baghdad as part of a strike team, I was able to speak to him once in awhile on SAT phone or yahoo chat, I never said goodbye without speaking those words. My ending was better than John Vigiano's, my son came home but I knew that if he had not there would never be that nagging thought of what our last words were. Always take that extra second needed to let you son, daughter, wife know how much you care. Bless John and his sons.

Ride like you mean it.

I am glad your boy made it back amglo; I have learned through my deployments that the ones left behind waiting on us at times go through a greater hardship. I watched my one boy crawl and walk for the first time over a video camera that I had 15 minutes on so others could use it. Returning from the deployment and having your child scream bloody hell because a "stranger" is holding him is the hardest thing I had to go through. Through all the crap though, it is people like John and all the other families during that day that made me decide to make a career out of this and contribute for as long as they let me. Those families never should have had to experience that hell and we are determined that it won't happen again.
