Not sure if this has been posted before or not. Saw it myself for the first time today. Pretty cool idea IMHO.

That is something I always thought would be a good business. On all my old army bases, they had a similar setup where you rent the bay, all the hand tools you need come with it, and they had a couple ASE certified mechanics on staff all the time to assist you and answer questions. I wish something like that was around here, too.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Can't see the video from work but based on Daves comments I get it. Last time I talked about this concept to someone insurance and liability were major issues. Doesn't matter how many releases the customer signs--they put out an eye and you're getting sued. We had something like that at MSU in the late 80s. I helped a buddy put a new engine in his Karmann Ghia at the student auto shop. The lift made life so much easier.

EDIT: watched on my Droid. Very cool!

I think there's a place like that in NYC.

untill budget cuts, all military bases had a "auto hobby shop" same idea. rent the bay check out tools you need and a ASE mech was always on duty to help.

I have always wanted to have what I would call a musicians co-op. rent jam rooms have a tech who would teach how to set up instruments, have mentorship programs.

Same as these guys are doing. wish there was one here myself.

One club Iwas in did have a "Shop Day" occasionally. A guy would open his Auto shop and you could bring in your bikes and do what needed doing. everyone was there to help. and then have a pick nick.
