My 9 year old daughter is selling Girl Scout Cookies. She set herself a goal of selling 1000 boxes. So far she has pre-orders for 806 boxes. Not bad for two weeks. Of course, Mum and Dad helped but i dont want to take any credit from her. She has worked very hard. But we have ran out of local cookie eaters.

So know I am going after the non cookie eaters and those who are not so local (I really don't want to mess with shipping costs). So I am pushing the 'Donation" sales.

You can donate Girl Scout Cookies direct to our brave men and woman who are serving their country overseas. Give our troops a taste of home.

If you are interested in making a donation of cookies to our troops, please PM me and i will send you my home address and the Girl Scout Troop Number to write you checks to. Each box is $3.50, you can donate one box or if you want to buy extra just multiply $3.50 by the number of boxes you wish to donate. A case has 12 boxes and costs $42.

Thank you all, and please excuse my solicitation. But it is for a very good cause. The Girl Scouts is a great organization for our young girls and our Troops deserve all the love and support we can give them.

You can very easily open an account and it is a great way to pay for things since they protect you from being ripped off. In addition it is an easy way to send money back and forth for anything over a distance, kid needs money in an emergency if they have a Paypal card or access to their bank among many other senerios I can think of.

I never thought about doing a personal PayPal. I'll look into that when I get home tonight. My girls Scout Troop do not have an account.

Interesting question. Wouldn't paypal take a transaction fee for every box he sold?

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

You could add the paypal fees to the price of the cookies. I think most would rather do that than drop a check in the mail.

PayPal charges no fee to move funds around to different financial institutions . All you need is an email address associated with a routing number and account number for both parties. Too easy .

Oh - Mark you said each box costs 3.50 - what is the cost per box to send them to the troops ?

Our local Girl Scout Troop has all the arraignments for that. I just mark on the order form how many boxes have been ordered/payed for and they arrange with the cookie suppliers to ship them to the troops. My guess is the get sent to a base in the US and then get sent with the army supply chain.

Your cookie cycle in the states is too early for us with snow all over the ground, I'm jealous I love GG cookies. Now are we talking the traditional or the new mintie ones?
