Standing outside Supermarket near home today when I noticed a guy trying to fit a double clothes rail into an old Renault 4. After deciding that it wouldn't fit he stood the rail by the drivers door, climbed in through the passenger door and opened the drivers door window. Can you guess where this is going ------ I kid you not he stuck out his left hand, grabbed the rail and drove off. Sorry about the quality of the photos - taken quickly on a cheap mobile phone. .
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker...
Well, she's not actually my girlfriend yet.

Classic, some of the best ones I've seen are mattresses on top of the car doubled in half while flying down the road. And plywood/osb board lying on top of the car and two "handymen" with an arm out each window holding on. People watching can be fun !

Oh no, absolutely not only in France. In fact, American rednecks do much, much worse than that...

Yep, I can remember seeing a mid-80's T-bird cruising down Hwy 81 in Anderson South Carolina with one of those trailer hitch mounted racks (for carrying coolers and stuff on the hitch) LOADED with books. They were stacked 3 feet high, and piled all the way up the back trunk to the rear window, and the back seat was piled roof high inside as well. Needless to say the rear suspension was COMPETELY bottomed out, and the hitch rack was maybe a couple inches off of the pavement! I still don't know how all of those books were staying put, since there weren't a bunch of ropes. Perhaps all of the book covers were glued together!

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Yep, lots of "creativity" here in the states as well. Why get a pickup to haul your bike when you can improvise...

Sometimes when I go to Lowes I will hang around for a few minutes just to watch somebody with a swamp cooler, BBQ or an equal sized & not thought out purchase... just to watch what I call a "Laurel & Hardy" rerun. People are fun that have a tape measure gene missing.
Ride like you mean it.

So THAT'S why there are no books in South Carolina.

Probably someone from North Carolina stealing them. That load probably doubled the number in North Carolina!
