I have one, works great with my tender. Use it with my electric vest and phone charger. A wire did break loose in the plug. Took it apart and resoldered it back together.

Hmmm, me thinks this is a good thing to add to my bike... a cigarette lighter outlet and one o' them cables to power my heated vest.
Live to love, love to live.

I have one. I use it for several things. One is to charge the battery with, through the bikes power socket. I also have another adapter that plugs into this one that lets me connect any cigarette (American) lighter adapter. Which I use for charging my cell phone or blowing up the air mattress when camping.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I use the powerlet for many uses, heated gear, cell phone, IPod etc. but for some reason I’ve been skeptical of the battery charging capabilities with the Powerlet and this cable. I’m planning to replace the battery tender connector with the Gerbings direct fused connector to the battery and will be utilizing the Powerlet for the battery tender. Sounds I’ll be placing an order for this one.

Keith, it's not a cigarette lighter socket, it's a powerlet socket. Smaller hole. The Rocket III came with one and I picked one up for Reboot, along with the adapter for my Gerbing liner. But I hadn't looked yet for a battery tender adapter. I have 4 batteries in the kitchen (reason #76 why it's great to not be married ), two on battery tenders, with a third battery tender in the garage hooked up to Reboot.
Although you can do the cigarette lighter socket and power your vest if you want...

Just to clarify, I would only charge the battery through the Accessory Power Outlet if you are trickle charging the battery.

Now are you talkin' about the factory accessory plug that snaps into a Powerlet outlet that goes in that hole in the engine mount bracket under the tank ? Whew ! So with all that said I'm assuming this is a good fused safe way to plug in a tender ?

I trickle charged through my Powerlet plug all the time with no problems when I still had the Yuasa battery. Now that I have a Shorai LiFePo battery it has it's own direct multi-pin connector for its charger - the connection tucks away under the fuse cover.

You mean I can't jump start it that way?

I made up this for my bike. It plugs directly to the hard-wired Optimate Charger socket and allows charging of anything with a normal cigarette-lighter plug. .

I've used a similar setup for several years. I fried the fuse a few months ago when I dropped the hot wire and it hit the frame. It's one of the things I'm going to fix this winter. It works well if you keep the butter off your fingers.
