Like I'm sure many others I have always been a bit concerned about the America having only one rear light. Bulb failure and you have no light. I got a couple of lamps for Christmas and have just finished fitting them. I made up a bracket that fits behind the number plate which means no drilling holes in the bike. The row of LEDs is just an additional brake light. Gary.
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker...
Well, she's not actually my girlfriend yet.

They would be cool with a dual element socket in them so they work as tail lights and as extra brake lights.

Did you use to work in aerospace, Gary? This isn't the first time you have home-built a nice accoutrement, in Al-yew-minny-um (English pronunciation).

You do really nice work, I have a couple of lathes, but I lust after a decent Bridgeport milling machine. I just have to quit spending all my money on toys.

Thanks, I'm retired now and living the quiet life in rural France. I still lust after 'tools' though.

Reminds me of one of the UFOs in Close Encounters with the Third Kind. Wait, I like that movie.

I went a little differently. I replaced the rear lenses with red ones and put very bright LED's into the housings. They are on all the time and blink when the turn signals are active. I got the LED's here. http://www.customdynamics.com/motorcycle_led_bulbs.htm#Genesis_LED_Clusters_This way I have three red lights aft all the time. I also replaced the tail light bulb with a two level LED. VERY Bright, both as tail light and brake light.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

which light did you use for the rear? 1.25 or 1.8" 1157/1156? would this bulb work the same up front?
