I dropped my Triumph 2002 America the other day negotiating a tight turn in a parking lot. It fell on on the left side and the clearview windscreen broke off on the left side from the top to the bottom in two pieces. The break is clean. I can piece it back together and there are no gaps. A few questions. What kind of material is a clearview screen? Is it polycarbonate or acrylic? Can this material be welded back together by acetone or some other product like IPS Weld on Glue? http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Adh...FQVwhwod2jNtnA Would appreciate any input. Tim

Your best bet might be to contact Clearview and ask them, they will know what if anything can be used.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Consider the constant wind force it'll be under and the tension placed on the screen when installed. You may be safer just replacing it.

If it broke in half its acrylic. IMHO. Polycarbonate/Lexan probably would not have broken. watch this clip

I am from San Francisco. What size is your screen and how much are you selling it for? Tim

Thanks! Before seeing this video I was convinced I had a polycarbonate screen. After watching this video I am sure it is acrylic. Thanks! Tim Quote:

No problem. I would not glue that one back together. I would replace it with a good one.

I also broke mine, not through an accident it just cracked, I glued it and took it off to the local boat screen place and they made me a new screen for $25, (polycarbonate) looks better than the original now.

Are Triumph windcreens Acrylic or Poly? Great display of the strength of Polycarbonate although I did like the shotgun pattern in the Acrylic

Dang! Looking at that flick is seems polycarbonate would make really bad clay pigeons. I now know why my Optometrist insisted on Polycarbonate lens.
