I change oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles on all my vehicles and I run full synthetic in all of them. It isn't the oil that breaks down at that stage but it is the additives that do break down around that stage. That is why the need to make the change. With bikes the spring oil change is to get the moisture out that has built up as well as any acidity and heavy metals from chemical reactions.

Dragspecialties oil is the best oil. How ever often you change it.

No point in changing oil now... the one I use works pretty good.

well, ever since I switched to Castrol Syntec on my 2000 VW, I've been changing every 10k miles. I'd be willing to be that I'll never have a premature engine failure for worn rings, bearings, etc.... On the Bonnie, I do it every 6,000, but only because I'm a little leery of the fact that our motors have the crank and cam riding directly on aluminum journals, not on bearings (unlike my cars), and the fact that the bike is air cooled. I plan on handing over my '06 Passat to my son in a few years, so it should hit 200k within 5 or so years. It won't be the engine that finally makes us trade it in though, even with the turbo, but rather the nickel and dime stuff like electricals, emissions, etc....

That were sarcasm. I change the oil in Matilda every 6k and my skillet every bacon load.

I wonder why Amsoil bought Dragspecialties oil but never published the test data. They published the results of everyone else?

I go twice as long as the "number" says. Mobile 1 in the cages, I've always gone 10,00-12,000 between oil changes.
Modern oils and engines just don't need the oil changed as often as the older ('60s-'70s) did.

Hell, most heavy equipment diesel engines go 500 or more hours between changes nowadays.

The bike gets it at 4500-5000.

Bill thanks for the link.
