The closest dealership to me (4 hour ride) in Kelowna has this up for sale.... a 2011 Bonneville SE custom bobber made up from a demo bike. They're asking 13 grand + taxes, freight, etc for a gasping total of $15,891.68! I think it's a lot of money for a bike that doesn't even have a front fender.

It looks GREAT! BUT, Unless there's a BOAT LOAD of engine mod's in there (and it don't look so), I think I could get ya there for $5-6K! (from a 300 mile demo bike) (and that INCLUDES a Jim Beam filter! )
And you may see me tonight

I think about $4500 to $5000, it is still a used bike.
I take that back, it is a 2011 so maybe $6000 to 6500 unless the miles are higher than I think they are.

Are those Canadian dollars? What does an SE go for in Canada new?
P.S. I dig it a lot, but it can be duplicated for about half that price USD.

Yup, those are Canadian dollars but there's not too big a difference between our currencies. Today, our $ is worth $.97 US. And I just checked the same dealership and they have 2011 Bonne SE for $9899.00 or $12,419.68. after all the extra charges (most of it being tax).

Ah, it's the taxes that are the killer. Doesn't sound like they've compensated at all for it being a demo bike. Like Erle said, there really needs to be some engine mods for that kind of scratch.

There's no way I'd pay that much, even if I did have the money. I just thought it was kinda cool, but not THAT cool!

Well, it gives one ideas. I've been admiring brat-style standard Bonnies for some time now. I'm thinking once I get Bollox done Reboot might get replaced by a Bonnie SE or Scrambler.

I love it! Looks great, and the blue/white paint with the whitewall tires is really nice. But... you could buy a used one and do it yourself for so much less and have more fun.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Yeah, and ya know... I just wouldn't have the satisfaction of knowing I came up with the idea(s), I did some (most, or all) of the work, I made it mine. It is nice though.

Some unskilled person may like one though and if not versed in bikes may get suckered into that type of shortcut and way over pay. I believe it was P.T. Barnum that said there is a customer born every minute. (Not sucker as is attributed to him)

Someone is bound to have the financial wherewithal more so than the technical wherewithal to pull this bike off. So there ya go. They can get out their checkbook.
