I'm trying to track the in-dash tach down for my Dad's 2006 America for xmas. I see them online in black and white versions. Seems like I read somewhere that one is for EFI versions, and one is for the older ones, anyone know if that's true? The site goes by VIN, but I don't have my dad's vin to double check by, unfortunately. :/

I /think/ I've put together from info on various forums that the white face should work for a 2006, and pop right in, with no need to remove the tank and add a harness or anything... but I'm not sure.

Any clarifications anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Your looking for the white face one, correctamundo, yes, they are plug and play as long as you stick to Triumph O.E.M.

They are 'vin' specific. Vin Number 468391 or earlier is, I think the number, but please check.
The White-face one A9938018 should fit the 2006 bike. The kit comes complete with additional wiring that needs to be used only if you only have two plugs under the cowl.
If you have three plugs, its a ten-minute job to fit.
