Gotta give OCC credit for thinking outside the box even if you don't like what they built and I don't. JJ built the same old crap that I never did like and out of the 3 I have to give it to PJD even if I can't stand the clown.

I guess this vote is going to be very simular to the one comming in november, not much of a choice. I guess its about which one makes you want to vomit the least.

I'll give the Teutils credit for showing some imagination and OCC even built something you could actually ride for a change. Still, how awful would the vibration on that Indian powered bike be? With no mass to dampen that PowerPlus shaker I'll bet you'd get off and look like one of those toy football players from the buzz board games of old.

That thing that OCC built vibrates like a paint shaker when its not off road.
The frame was built offsite, the motors and controls were installed by a third party company so the only thing they did was sheet metal and those stupid flame throwers. It so similar to the Gears of War bike PJD built a few episodes ago it really takes any coolness away.

The PJD bike, though not really a rideable bike for any distance, is a great looking machine. It will look great sitting in a showroom somewhere. He's edged out by JJ (at least for me) by two things, his swing arm and front end were made by some one else and its not really rideable in anything but a straight line (look at his tires and wheels, theres NO room for a lean without hitting the wheel.

The JJ bike, though not my style, was all hand built, hand fabbricated. He hand built a frame, hand built that front end and only called in help at the very end to meet his deadline. His bike is rideable. I didn't say comfortable or practical but if you were going to hop onto any of the three bikes and do say a 50 mile trip the JJ bike would be the only one to make it and stay intact.

just my opinion.

Amen. When it comes to choppers I lean more toward function over form. Function IS the design. I have no words to describe that frickin snowmobile.

Someone on Facebook said they changed the format of the show from the old biker build-offs and they didn't actually have to ride their creations at all? I liked Metric Revolution, where they had to ride the bikes something like 100 miles up into the mountains around Vegas. Unfortunately that screwed one of the Rocket IIIs (custom radiator was too small).

I do like the overall stance of Jr's bike, and I don't like the high-rise in JJ's bike, but overall I still gotta go with JJ. IMHO, Senior didn't even show up.

I would say JJ's but that's not saying much. The other 2 were the usual occ garbage.

Jrs bike looks like it was designed by Liberace...

Then I tried to vote for the biggest a-hole. Decisions decisions..........

So, since the exhaust goes through the gas tank, if the bike went farther than 2 miles would it explode? That fuel has got to be getting hot in there. I think it looks cool though. Jesse was acting like a total douchebag throughout the whole thing, not really the way to try and make yourself look any better than the current public perception. As far as actually BUILDING a bike, only one of them did it. To take all raw material and bend it and make the whole thing is a talent not seen from OCC or PJD. In that regard James is probably right, I don't know if I've ever seen them fabricate a frame or front end from scratch. But man did he act like a dick. I liked him more way back when he was just a bike builder and not such an ass clown.

Well John, tell ya what! I'd vote for one of those things, BUT....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAqxWa9Rbe0

(...and no, if you're wonderin', I didn't mistakenly post this in this thread instead of Chad's "Movies?" thread...BUT it DID give me the idea for my response here!!!...sorry, I couldn't resist, 'cause all three of those guys ARE clowns, as a few others have mentioned earlier here, and all three of these things ARE pretty much "clown-cycles"...except MAYBE Paulie Sr's...though even THAT ain't no motorsickle by any means at all!)

(...oh, and btw, I gotta admit I got a good laugh out of Robert's above line, "Jrs bike looks like it was designed by Liberace"...GOOD one, Robert!)

Depends on the criteria for winning. Judging by the comments on the Discovery site, the OCC/PJD fans are out in full force, and they're going full retard. The winning criteria is popularity, not fabrication skill. If this was being judged by industry experts it would likely be no contest. But by opening it up to the fans Discovery removes themselves from the crosshairs of said fans.

I saw some interview videos online with Jesse (shooting guns between interview segments) and his arrogant DB factor has been ramped up quite a bit. But apparently so has his skill level which was already formidable.

JJ has real talent. I remember watching a show on him before that whole Monster Garage thing. He would cut a wooden form clamp it to a table and heat a piece of pipe and bend it by hand to form his frame parts and them weld up his own frame with the hand bent parts. Also built his own engines with custom made parts. Hammered out his own sheet metal and so on. He is an ass but knows his stuff.

So Jr. won it. Jesse does have a very good point. Jr's bike can go just about 20 miles on its little hidden gas tank.

He appropriately argues that his is the only functional bike.

I guess I missed the part where the gas tank was hidden? Where did they end up putting fuel, cause the exhaust through the tank had me curious

I love how the Teutel sycophants all say Jesse built just a regular motorcycle. I think the key word here is "built."

As far as personal lives go, none of these three jackholes are saints. I'm amazed Jr. and Sr. stopped suing each other long enough to film this show. Jesse's philandering is downright pedestrian.

I can't stand JJ - and I wanted to like Jr's design - even though he's a whiner, I like a lot of his work. But I really have to vote for jesse's bike. It was a "practical" piece of art, and I massively respect how hand-built it really was. If I was just going to have one of those bikes for myself? I'd take jr.s and mod it a little so I could at least ride it in the occasional parade or short summer rides...

They are not real bikes they are drawings. So none of this is even remotely relevant to anyone who is not a cartoon.

I watched both episodes last night and also came away giving even
higher marks to JJ's bike. Not neccesarily what I would want but I sure
as hell wouldn't be ashamed to be seen riding it. All in all I think it's a classy bike..

Jr's POS on the other hand, there is nothing under the sun you could do
that would make go anywhere near it. It's pathetic. If ever there was such thing
as a bike undergoing a sex change operation, this would be it.

As for JJ's tabloid troubles, I look at this way; Nothing against Sandra but she
decided to latch herself to a guy who's been dating porn stars for the past
decade or so. Who did she expect Ward Cleaver? I'm not excusing what he did
but she should have known better.

I also thought his OCC comments were
hilarious but that's just me.

JJ is nothing if not consistant. Doesn't put on a false act.
If a man (or woman) cheated on their
first four spouses & you married them knowing this,
you got what's coming to you.

On to the builds. OCC made the PERFECT VEHICLE for use in a Sci-Fi movie. You could fight Zombies with that one.
Not a bike, though. BTW, the bike w/sidecar that they made for "Meteor Men" looks very functional.

PJD made a pretty metal sculpture that can also be used as a movie prop.
The 20 mile range would be enough for that.
Interesting to note that the most difficult to make parts of the "bike", the front end and swingarm,
were made by outside suppliers. The swingarm doesn't look as sturdy as others I've seen, I bet it flexes under load.

Back to the JJ bike. It is a real bike. I don't like hardtails,
don't like the way the frame is stretched to put the headstock up so high.
But I could ride it, and I don't think it would fall apart.
I don't like the styling, but it seems well built.

Was just reading the comments in that blog that was posted by John. That Anonymous guy says Paul Jr knows how to build bikes and notes the first season as an example. I beg to differ, I remember him trying over and over to put a tranny together and in the end finally giving up and having a mechanic do it. In my book that is not a guy who knows how to build bikes.

Now Ian! Maybe after all the years that program has been of the air("thanks" to all the people out there in Television Land who for whatever stupid reason continued to watch that gawd awful program after the first season), well, MAYBE Paulie Jr. HAS learned how to put a motorcycle transmission together by now, EH???!!!

Ever think o' THAT?

(...YEAH, maybe you're just not givin' Paulie Jr enough CREDIT here, THAT'S all!!!)

Now John, whaddaya mean, "He doesn't even ride"???

Why, I just wasted 15 minutes of my life(which I'll never get back) watching that video in your link there, and I watched Paulie Jr riding that Liberacecycle he built with my own eyes.

Of course, all he was doin' while riding there was going down a straight-as-an-arrow road on it, which from the few times I've ever watched that program of his and the bikes he builds, is just about the ONLY thing one CAN do on one of his bikes, 'cause, as Chet pretty much pointed out above, the "function" of a Chopper IS pretty much limited to THAT alone, 'cause those things almost always handle like crap, ya see!

(...and so, bottom line here, the guy DOES and CAN ride...straight down a road, anyway...yep, it's like I was sayin', "you guys" are MUCH too hard on poor little Paulie Jr here!)
