The kick start being on the wrong side was my first thought then as soon as I saw the pistons not at the top at the same time that stuck out like a sore thumb.

Hmmmmmmm....ya know, for some reason I just KNEW the first thing you'd pick up on would be that kickstarter and how it's on the wrong side, Ian ol' buddy!!!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
Thanks John. That was a pretty neat animation despite the apparent error re: the kick start. Would be tons cooler if it included the valves, and tranny. Now....to figure out how to save it as a screen saver on my laptop at work! Thanks.

As Ian said, there are add-ons available for Firefox that allow you to save the vid, or just the audio, or capture a picture. I use FF with the "Easy Youtube Video Downloader" and find it works very well.
Looks like a vintage Triumph judging from the timing cover and head shape. Although the upper fins do continue behind the the plug unlike the vintage Triumph. The timing cover is on the wrong side too along with the other issues. The vintage Triumph had a 360º crank.

Methinks what's being shown is a 270 degree firing system.
Not likely with that kicker being on there (even though it is on the wrong side).
Did I say it was our engine? Or even an engine that has ever existed?
As Ian points out, it looks Triumph apart from one or two differences, but the only thing that actually says "Triumph" is the title of the clip.
It is still a 270 degree crank no matter who made it
Too old to die young, too ugly to leave a good looking corpse

No, I guess you didn't but that engine does actually exist, and it's not from Triumph, either. It's actually the power plant from a downed UFO and has been 'kept on ice' in some underground bunker at Area 51 all this time. I mean look at the way it splits up and comes back together again without so much as a misfire. No earth made engine has ever been able to do that!
