ive got a 09 america fuel injected open pipes no snorkle k&n filter air injection removal and power commander 5 wondering if I have to do air box removal to install cams or can i just cut the air box to open up air flow?

Air box removal to install cams? Your K&N should be fine, but you could run pods if you want to. You could drill the bottom of your stock airbox out (inside where the filter sits) but it could catch water when it rains. How deep into the motor do you plan on going? Your air intake should be ok, but you'll probably have to remap your EFI.

zipper, you do not have to cut away the air box to add cams. From all I read air box removal has little benefit with EFI. I have left my air box intact, just pulled the snorkel and installed a Uni filter. Had 904 big bore and cams done at the 12K mile service. The cams really woke the motor up. Originally the power just died above 6000 RPM. 5000 to rev limiter is much stronger now! Never hit the rev limiter before those mods. Cams and a proper tune / remap will make a big change in performance.
