Do you really get a 100,000 mi. guarantee from Victory on the tranny? Or did I dream that? Cool looking bike in a Art Deco kind of way, definitely has flowing lines. Congrats.

I think they still do that. Then again with a transmission as strong as a John Deere tractor I doubt you would use the warranty.
Good choice Speedblue. I have nothing bad to say about my kingpin so assume that bike will be like granite.

Best looking Victory to date, especially the black and chrome finish. Nice.

yup nice bike, to big for my liking but i have seen them in person and they are a sweet looking machine, i think if i were to consider something like that i would look at the new vulcan 1700, very nice bike and not a bad price i think about 17k loaded.
But victory makes a nice machine no question, congrats on the purchase.

Thanks people. Took it over to the daughters house for Thanksgiving Day. Took it out after work tonight. That's when I seen all the new hand prints on the tank from the grand-kids! The youngest boy has already helped me out by wiping off one of the saddle bags when it was covered in dust. --- I did good I did not get mad,I laughed about it. Now I got a cover for it when ever I park it at night the cover goes on.It helps keep the dust down and the little hands seem to stay off it more.

Congratulations! You're going to enjoy riding the XR.
Victory motorcycles are very reliable and trouble-free machines. Gas, oil and tires.
Best wishes and ride safe.

If I had to have a V-Twin it would look a lot like that. But I don't. So I won't.

Very art deco pretty. The more I hear about Victory, the more I'd consider one, if I wasn't a Trumpet fanatic!

There are a number in GB, just a ferry ride away. It's not like you'll ever need service on a Victory.

Great lookin' bike, Michael. I did a demo ride on the Cross Country a while back and was impressed with it, too.
One question though. Where's your bike's integrated crash bars up front there? Did you remove 'em for some reason? I thought they were standard on these bikes.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight, good eye. I believe Michael's Cross Roads is the "base" model.
The beauty of this model is you can customize it as you like, including the option of adding the tubular or forged highway bars, or even the hard lower kit as found on the Cross Country Tour.

Bars are on there now. I am still waiting for saddle bag guards. When the saddle bag guards come in they are suppose to have those and the engine guards powder coated gloss black.

Don't be shy... post pics of the bike with those bars on it. How do you feel about it now that you've had it for a few months?

I too have taken a test ride on this bike, found it too big for me but a good handler nonetheless. My only consideration beside the Trumpet was the Victory Vegas. This bike reminds me of Darth Vader (not a bad thing). What I did not like was Victory's recommended oil change every 2500 miles. Enjoy, good looking bike.
Ride like you mean it.

I never read that about the oil. I change mine every 3500-4500 miles on my 100CID Victory have had no issues. 2500 seems like a waste of oil to me. This article says 5000 miles. I like 97HP with 109 lbs. of torque our of the box.

I'm going at least 3,000 miles on Vision oil changes, often to 4,000.

Bud's getting ready to buy a new 2012 Croads with shield, bars, and bags. He said 13000. Sounds like he found a bargain when looking at the MSRP.

Yah, the Cross country has been tempting me with the detachable back rest and box, stereo speakers included but I can't see us riding around the world and the Triumph is perfect for two up day trips. For a big bike they handle pretty sweet.

The rumors are flying about the new bike coming out next Friday! Word on the street is that it's not a cruiser or a bagger.

I bet it will be like a Hard Eight Low Ball. Bars from this, color from that, wheels from there etc.

THOR is that because they have skimped on the seat cushion and it is a hard tail?
