right in my garage. Many of know I've been looking so I wanted to tell you all I brought home an 08 Rocket III Touring(blk/wht) yesterday. I was supposed to go to GA to get it but ended up picking it up in TN as the dude was cool to meet me. Unfortunately, on the way down to get it, I got a ticket in KY. The cop even ran across the grass median on Highway 24 to come back and get me. He made a lot of effort considering I was only going 13 over. Oh well. Riding the bike home was awesome. I'm stunned by the amount of Torque, in any gear at such low RPMs. It came with D&D exhaust, solo & touring seat, back rests, nice risers, tall & standard windshields, Highway bars, luggage rack. Got a good deal well below KBB too so I'm feeling pretty good so far.

CON-FRIGGIN'-GRATULATIONS! Now, that's gotta feel good!! The only thing missing about this announcement is pics... I'd love to see it! So tell me, Chris... is Dave still gonna ride with you? Does he still talk to you? Are you guys still friends (what with possibly being overcome by jealousy and all)? PS. A little advice... let Dave ride it if you want to keep your friendship. Also, same thing when you come up here!
Live to love, love to live.

Sure is one nice lookin' ride there alright! But tell me somethin' here: Do the cagers on the road around you tend to slow down a little whenever they spot you out of the corner of their eye on that B&W motorcycle, "Officer" Chris?
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Welcome to the club, the club I've been in for less than two months. I basically only rode mine for a couple weeks before I put it away for the winter but I'm amazed I didn't get a ticket. I'm sure there's at least one in my future.

Thanks everybody...and Dave, thanks for posting the pic I had on facebook. I want to get her cleaned up and get some good shots instead of the shots that were at the dealer it was sitting at(Black Mountian Motorcycles).
Mike...that vid was funny.
Jack...I'm totally taking out a 2nd mortgage to pay for tickets.
Keith...not sure man. Bikes are like wives sometimes and we don't let our friends ride them. Well, not everybody.
Jayhawk...It's amazing.
Dwight...I thought it looked like a cop bike too. I'll put some custom squirt on it someday. Paid cash for her so I need to wait a little till the ole account bounces back some.

The stuff that has been added so far:
D&D pipes with K&N drop in and flashed at the dealer. Some nice Chrome pull back risers. Solo Seat with backrest, Touring seat with backrest. Highway bars I think that's it.
I plan on doing some stuff after I get used to it. Not sure if I want to do triple K&N and remove the secondaries or GiPro ATRE. There's plenty folks are doing to these bikes. I'm still learning and reading as much as I can on their sites.

How do the D&D pipes sound? I've been thinking about adding them to my R3T if I decide to keep it.

Hey Joe...The D&D's are relatively loud. They make the bike kind of sound like a truck in my opinion. I like them. My neighbor thinks they're louder than the Specialty Spares I had on my speedy. I disagree, it just has more of a "Rummmmmm" sound than a rumble and resonates quite a tone. I was actually considering your bike. Are you still selling it b/c your asking price is outstanding and lower than I paid for mine. It was just you're a 1000 miles away from me and the weather is so unpredictable this time of year. I'm surprised nobody has jumped on it.

Do the Gipro-Atre first and foremost..The best bang for your buck..opens everything in all gears(not just 4th)and eliminates the speed limiter..Not wanting to cause an issue, but triples k'n and all the rest are just visionary after the Gipro-Atre..you will never use the rest as you will have more than you will safely need now that you have full flow exhaust with the d'd's.Check it out:http://www.pashnit.com/product/gipro.html

R3T's have the cat(s) in the mufflers, right? So the D&Ds get rid of the cats? Mine has a catbox under the seat. I'll probably go full Jardine replacement system. GiPro first, as Bob suggests. Next Spring.

Yes,the R3T have the cats in the stock mufflers and are removed when replacing the stock mufflers.

Bob...I appreciate the advice. I was just reading a post over at the .net site that was about what you are talking about and the other stuff not really being necessary or effective. It's already so powerful...I can almost TOO easily fishtail the R3T jumping off the line.

Congrats Chris. I traded my 05 America for an 08 Rocket Touring (Black and Red)this fall and have not looked back. I find the bike to be a great ride around town as well as on the highway. The only real handling difference I've found is now I make sure to back into parking spots. You cannot push this bike up any incline at all :-D
