I just watched an episode where they went up to Deal's Gap. The following episode has them in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, home of the thunder on the lake Chichaqua bike rally. About 70 miles from my house.

Nick means to steal. First time I saw the English Hairy Bikers on tv they we're riding an America and a Speedy. In another series they rode round Britain on R3 Tourings. They have travelled all round the world cooking on hillsides etc (using mainly BMWs). Recently they were riding Guzzis but their current series on UK tv, they are riding Tigers (I assume 1050s). Wendy and I met them once, they seem like ok blokes.

Yeah... and the episode last night I started to watch had them searching for edible road kill in NC. That killed it for me. Don't really want to watch anyone eat roadkill.

Okay, I think I get it now. Us Yanks nicked Top Gear and the Hairys. Well I just started seeing them advertized on cable in the U.S. riding around on Harleys and last night was the first time I actually watched an episode. Fresh road kill anybody? Remember the Beverly Hillbillys movie? And I was warmed to see them traveling some of the roads I'm familiar with in MS.
Okay, I've learned something today. Thanks for the lesson!

Funny, watching our Hairys (that sounds wrong doesn't it?!) when their new series started on Monday I thought they should do the States. They are big lads and I imagine they would enjoy the large portions served in some 'Man V Food' style BBQ eateries. They rode Harley's once when they were doing some touring in South America I think it was.

I hate the over done phoney southern accent. I don't watch Rocket city rednecks either. Its ok to be southern and have the accent, but don't ham it up for theatrics.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I didn't know they started in the UK. I would like to see them ride some Triumphs. I kind of like the show. They were eating some good barbecue last night. And the roadkill wasn't exactly dead squirrels. Some of it was freshly killed vension. They probably nicked it.

It's almost as if there are people looking in ... the lads have just done some more cooking a riding in Europe and I hear tell that The Hairy Bikers are touring round the southern states in the US soon. Just thought I'd say ...

They tried an Australian version of top gear too.It was crap.
the Hairy Bikers are the same guys only touring America so it's still the same show only different, and interesting, locations. Not a U.S. version.

They never learn. How many programmes have they nicked and then they came to naught? But then, BBC America only shows that Ramsey bloke all day long instead of the good stuff (rats, spelcheck won't allow you to spell 'stough' properly anymore) they used to have.

Some things just don't travel. I heard yesterday (funnily enough on Top Gear!) that the US tv people tried to remake Fawlty Towers .... without Basil Fawlty!! HELLO!!!

There was talk of doing a US version of Absolutely Fabulous, until they realized that as soon as they took out the Sex, Drugs and Alcohol they didn't have a show.

I hear from twitter that the real Hairy Bikers (@HairyBikers) are in New Orleans "loving shrimp, grits and catfish". Not sure if that's all on the same plate. I've tried grits several times now and I'm still not sure if I like 'em!

Man, if you're on the fence, throw a little cheddar cheese into the mix. A touch of cayenne and you have a serious side. Great in the morning with a couple sunny sides on top.
