so from what I find these both have the same engine bore & stroke? So in theory if they are running the same pipes and the air box removed should be able to run the same carb set up correct? Thanks, Todd

As a base line, yes. Yet each bike's jetting may need to be tweaked. I've seen the same bikes with major differences in jetting.

Right,It just seems it make a fantastic starting point vs. the trial and error method.Should save me a little.

For a time the Speedy had a different needle than the America but these year models might have the same one; I think that was in the period when the Speedies had the 865 and the America was still 790. Easy enough to check while the carbs are off and in hand.
