I reckon this is theft to order. They have followed him and done the deed at the traffic lights. He should have just ridden off - what could the thief have done?

If he was watching his mirrors he would probably have seen the thief get out of a car behind him and he would have at least been able to ID the accomplise's car rego after the theft.

Moral of the story - be wary of anyone exiting a car and approaching you while you are stopped at the lights.

This one has been done before in Auckland NZ many years ago at the lights. The four large Maori gentlemen that pulled it off lifted the Harley into the back of the van they were driving and drove off leaving the rider sprawled on the road wondering what the hell had happened!

Here's an update, folks.

The Sydney Police Dept just released this composite sketch of the alleged assailant with the following plea to the public:

If spotted, DO NOT attempt to apprehend this suspect on your own! He is MUCH more dangerous than his appearance would otherwise suggest. Immediate notify your local law enforcement agency instead.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Remember the good old days when nobody touched a bike because they were afraid of what the biker or his bros might do to them if caught? My how times have changed.

I never said 'kick'. Much more effective to shoot first.

I passed a HD rider last week that had a baseball bat laced to his handlebars. Looked stupid, but I've ridden through neighborhoods where I'd have been more comfortable if I'd had that.

I have an Irish blackthorn shillelagh (stick 'G' in the 3rd photo) heavyweight walking stick in stainless custom mounts just behind me. Nice and legal and makes quite an impression

Nice selection there. I've got a couple of walking sticks, but none as nice as those. Well, except for the one that conceals a short fencing foil.
