I'm currently looking for a one piece seat to replace the original on my 2009 efi. Apart from not liking the rear seat, my wife has put some really bad marks on it where she's scuffed her boot. Try as I might, I cant get them off and it looks awful. Anyway, I like the K & Q from Norman Hyde but they're a bit pricey. There's also a gel seat, currently on ebay, which I like and is a lot cheaper than the Triumph touring seat. However, I reckon it will probably be almost as much as a new one by the end of the auction. What I want to know is this. When I looked on a main dealer site's parts list, there is a Touring seat and a Roadster seat which both look the same. What's the difference? I thought a Roadster seat was the one like the Speedmaster original seat. Could someone enlighten me please? Also, which is the lowest profile double seat (one piece) Thanks

Doesn't the roadster seat taper severely in the back?

Yeah , and the Touring seat is sorta elevated and wider at the back , like a beaver's tail with some allergy thing gone amuck . To quote Thom's daughter , it's "squishy and delightful."

Yeah, they seem to be very distinctive to me. To answer the last question, the roadster seat should definitely be lower profile, at least for the passenger.

Thanks for the info. Went into the dealership on Sat, they say they don't do the Roadster seat anymore. I like the new seat on the current America but they say it won't fit mine. So only one option I guess.

Did they do a roadster seat in prior EFI years? Can you find a used one?

I am suprised to hear that the EFI and Carburated bikes do not have interchangable seats. Does anybody access to both styles of bikes to see if the seats are interchangable?

I know. Seat mounting is generally the function of a frame, not the intake system on an engine. Did they changed the frame for EFI?

The issue (if there is one at all) would be because the tanks are shaped differently, I should imagine. Perhaps a carbie seat doesn't match well to a EFI tank.
Live to love, love to live.

I think the seats ARE interchangeable between the carbed and efi bikes up to and including 2010. From 2011 on they changed the seats to give a lower profile and height.

The seats are indeed interchangeable... My seats are cast from the frame and fit all models including 2011... On this principle... Unless the individual seats are different, the frames are the same... As for carb and efi... It has no bearing whatsoever on the seat and frame...

I had the corbin with backrest on my 04 America, then put it on the EFI 2008 speedy. I now have it on the 02 America...
