Here it is the last day of February, -12c, a few snowflakes, and my wife reminding me that it's 8 weeks before we head south for vacation. I'm supposed to be excited, and I tell her I am, but I'm more anxious to head to the one of the 2 events for Triumph being held in Pennsylvania in June and July of this year. Which one I'll be at will depend on my schedule at work. Never been further south than Mass and RI by bike but have always heard how great the Pokenos are for sightseeing, etc. My plan is to allow 2 days each way for travel, moteling it along the way, and pitching a tent when I get there. As one who is kinda unfamiliar to the area, I would like to learn as much as I can about places to stay, tenting, security, etc. I'd rather be saying I could deal with anything when I get there, I want to be a little better prepared, and any tips or past experiences would probably make it a better trip. It would be interesting to see a thread like a travel agent review thing to get some kinda heads up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

LitzerSki,

There is a pretty major meet in June called "Triumph Come Home". It located about 2 - 2.5 hours due west of Philly. Pretty nice ride to and from in the summertime (i.e. Amish, country roads, etc.). I've heard it is $5 + food /day to get in. I believe they also have hotels and camping if you want to stay for a few days.

I haven't been to this one yet, but I'm planning on going this summer.

Hope this helps,

Steve B.

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

The one in June is "Triumph Come Home " (((((http://www.triumphcomehome.com/triumphcomehome.html)))))and the one in July is a "Rat" raid ((((To pre-register with RAT for this event, download the flyer from ( www.TriumphMotorcycles.com) or send an email to (ratamerica@triumphmotorcyles.com) and request a flyer for this particular weekend.)))) I'm looking forward to making it to one of them and think either one will be a good time.
