Today when sitting in the turn right lane not far from where I work, a truck pulled up next to me, gave a loud blast on his air horn, rolled down his window and with the widest of smiles gave me the thumbs up and shouted, "Nice". Now I take it he was referring to my 06 America and not my appearance? I'm not use to getting compliments about my bike but geez it felt good. It really made my day and I bet there are a lot of fellow BA & SM riders out there that have been in the same situation?

Happened yesterday as well. Sitting at a light and a old dude in a sprint van pulled up next to me, in the same lane, and starts going on about his old BSAs. Asked if mine was a 600. Sometimes I'm not sure of the compliments. But it was uncomfortable having the dude pull up right next to me.

Mrs Newt is always complaining about not being able to go anywhere because i always end up having a conversation with someone about my Triumph. we pull into a stopandrob someplace or a resturant, it dont matter, somebody has to tell me all about their 19?? that they had. i always think, if as people that say they had a Triumph really had one, i cant see how there could have ever been money troubles for Meridan seems that everybody has had one get used to it my friend cuz it dont ever seem to end
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Dig This, A neighbor from a block over rides past my house daily on his Harley custom hardtail with a springer front, no turn signals, apes, a real nice blue two tone paint and chrome everything. I heard him pull up in front of my place the other day so I figured I take a good gander at his ride jez because. So, I am ooggling his bike, when he comes out from another neighbors backyard and asks if I'm the guy that's ridin a Triumph and could he see it. So I sez sure and open the garage. Immediately he tells me "I love it" and then asks if he could take it for a ride round the block. So he takes it round the block, pulls back in the drive, shuts er down, and then asks if I wanna trade! Of course I said no! Gotta love it when even a died in the wool hard ass HD rider drools over your BA!

That's why some of us call them "Geezer Magnets."
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

The running joke is that the bike is a sausage magnet, nothing but old dudes chatting me up. I was hoping that would change with the Rocket, but it's the same dudes and they just have one comment and one question:
"Wow, that's a big bike." "Is it fast?"
WTF do you think, pops?

I like the way my bike (our bikes) open great conversations with fellow enthusiasts, past or present. "Yeah, me too" I always say when a fellow geezer tells me he had one back in the day. "Yup, I say... I cut my teeth on a Trumpet, 'twas a '59 Tiger" and on and on it goes. It's a Triumph thing.
Live to love, love to live.

Maybe youse guys just didn't buy the right color bikes....
I've had several women compliment both my triumphs - one creamsicle 2000 Thunderbird sport and a 04 "babyblue" and black speedmaster.... cause they sure weren't after me.
