As the miles add up, what issues should we budget for? The BA I'm riding has 51k and the following has been done:
Three sets of tires Three sets of sprockets and chains Second set of aftermarket pipes. The speedo is at least 10mph off at 70mph Cam cover seal needs replacing Second set of brake pads Second headlight (rock thrown by semi?) Routine oil changes valves adjusted- Will do again when seal is replaced
What about clutch and brake cables? Tranny? Engine? Or anything costly that wasn't listed
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

I’m around 94k on my 02 BA. I’ve replaced the clutch twice and last year did the rings. No other major stuff other then the normal tires, chain/sprocket, oil changes and valve adjustments. Ooops forgot the cables (once), seal replacement around the shifter rod and the cush drive.

Oh yeah forgot about the cush drive replacement. Now, for replacing the clutch twice, what were the contributing factors?. Big bore kit, stop and go riding or riding the snot out of it?

I guess it was a lot of stop and go. I do a lot of commuting on the bike and get stuck in traffic a lot. Clutch was slipping ended up replacing about 60k give or take. I noticed a little slipping when I did the rings. Didn’t really need it but since the top end was taken apart and no oil in the bottom, I decided to replace it again rather then have to tear it down at a later point.

Almost 53,000 now on Frog....oil seeping from clutch shaft now, where clutch cable connects to the engine....Not bad enough to fix yet....

Me too, just shy of 53,000. Had an expensive replacement when the ECU/CDI went ka-put... that was at least 25,000 miles ago now though. Had to replace starter solenoid too. Apart from that just usual stuff for me. May have to replace clutch cable soon for first time.
My old man has 80,000 on his now. He's replaced ECU/CDI and a coil. That's it, just general wear and tear parts.
The bikes electrics take a real battering riding all year round in the UK, so do the calipers!
Ben.
