Attended a local bike show today and saw an awesome 1973 Hurricane X-75 and another Triumph America custom built motorcycle, called Crazy Horse. This custom Triumph America was built just about 4 miles from where I live in central PA. It's a really cool bike with many nice custom touches.
If anyone would like to see a video of the custom Crazy Horse bike, go to YouTube and look up wildheart337. The owner has a few videos of the bike and goes into detail about it on the videos.
I've been hanging around this site for the last couple of years and finally decided to make my first post. Great site and I've got alot of great information from here.
That's very ...interesting. Almost looks like he widened the rear swingarm and extended out the output shaft for the front sprocket to account for the offset.
100% With you Dwight, that C. Vetter Trident looks like a lot more fun and you wouldn't have to wear soft flannel jammies to keep from scratching it every time you got on or off.
Yep! I remember seeing the original BSA version of Vetter's creation on the cover of "Cycle" magazine back around '73 or so, and immediately loved the look of it, Ryk. I had a '71 BSA Rocket3 at the time which the Hurricane would be based upon, and for a while had thoughts of trading it in for the Vetter bike once it hit the market. But, as we now know, BSA would go under before this bike would eventually become available to the public as a Triumph.
I remember that at the time I thought the slightly extended forks(by about 1.5 inches over the stock Rocket3) looked really cool on the bike, seeing as how the whole Chopper thing was in full flow at the time, but now that's the only thing about the Hurricane I'm not crazy about.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
One of these at the Brisbane bike show last sunday in same order-Have not seen one for many years. Wonder how a triumph retro model would go on the market? Bet quite a few riders of my vintage would be interested as they were like hens teeth back in the day! With one of the new bullet proof 3 cyl engines and modern running gear you would have a real head turner!!!!!!
