Biketoberfest 2011 is Thur., 10/13 thru Sun., 10/16.
The BEST gathering (IMHO) is the "Old School Chopper Show", presented by The Horse Backstreet Choppers magazine, and sponcered/held @ Willie's Tropical Tattoo in Ormond Beach on Thursday, 13, 12PM-4PM. Rats/bobbers/chops, BBQ, bands, models avail.for photos of your bike, etc. This is the only day that my son and myself are locked in to going. (No other riders going with us that day).
If I get home early enough Thurs. to set the bike up for two-up, then Fri. I'll be going with my son, wife, and a friend or two from work.
Sat. & Sun. are Iffy.
If anyone from cent./south Florida is going to Ormond Beach Thurs. for the Old School Chopper Show, let me know. We'll be going north from Orlando, (about 10AM), through Apopka, Mt. Plymouth, Deland, Ormond. (all backroads).
No plans for Friday (routes/times/destinations), so send a line if going.
Ditto for Sat/Sun.
Peace, Erle.
And you may see me tonight

I'll be down there either Friday or Saturday. I agree with you about Tropical Willie's but I have to work that day. If the wife goes with, then we'll probably be closer to Destination Daytona and the Pig Stand.

Hey Steve, I just confirmed that I'll be there Fri. also, with a friend from work. We have no plans, and usually run around from Daytona (Main St.) to Ormond (Iron Horse Saloon) and back. If you go Fri., call me by noon, and we'll see what our plans are, and we might meet up at one of the local band stops. Erle (321) 689-1971 Most likely you'll need to leave a voice mail, as I won't hear/feel it while riding, but check it regularly when stopped.

Spent two days riding around the area and only saw three other Triumphs: a Thunderbird (seen from the deck at Finns), a Rocket Roadster and a T-100 with a scout fairing at the Speedway. Way too many Harleys IMO and all other marques well under represented. My brothers and their buddies were all loaded up on HD baggers and whose bike draws the crowd everythime we stopped? Yep, that little "undersized" 04 America...had to shoo the "back-in-the-day gang" away at the Speedway as they were getting a little too close The Perewitz Allstate Knucklehead give away was my favorite. The most impressive thing to me was the sheer number of women riders. From bobbers to baggers they were well represented, we counted an average of one in four while we people watched from Finns deck. And for you "girlie" bike types there were many Sportsters being ridden two up and well ridden at that.

I was there both Friday and Sunday. Did the Speedway and Riverfront Park Friday, Main St. on Sunday and saw 3 Roadsters and a few chopped up SM's. Had a few HD riders ask about my speedy and remarked on the look and styling, all positive. Great weather and a great friendly crowd throughout the Volusia area.

Thursday @ Willies in Ormond Beach was great, my son on the Suzuki, me on the America. BUT, when we hit Orlando Thurs. night, I lost fire to the right cyl. Switched plugs, plug wires, and coils, still no spark to the right side cyl. Stopped @ midnight, and called it quites. Fri.,on the Suzuki, the wife and I started in Orlando, went to Daytona, caught David A. Coe @ the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach, a short trip to Destination Daytona in Ormond, then back to Orl. Sat., I took the Suzuki and rode to Daytona with a friend who just got his totalled Buell running again. He needed the shake-down run. It was Fast & Furious. Sunday, not to be out done, the wife & I rode the Suzuki to Orlando H/D for free, all you can eat lunch, with all you can drink drafts, along with a performance by Ben Prestige. (Love to take the ol' Suzuki to the H/D dealerships, and wolf down free food & drinks.) Next week I'll varify if the CDI is shot (as I expect) and cuss the Triumph name! This weekend, I THANK GOD FOR SUZUKI'S!!!
