There hasn't been much I've been able to find online in the last few months about a possible 2012 Trophy. Anyone heard or seen any info? No plans to give up my America as long as I can ride, but would love to own a sit up tourer. Been looking at Gold Wings and BMWs. I've got room for 2 Triumphs in my garage.

I'm looking at the goldwings myself. The thing that sucks with them is the GPS. For a $2,700 premium I can have Honda's idea of a gps that will not allow me to navigate on the fly. WTF? Forget that noise. I'll use an $800 Zumo thank you very much. Lot's of choices for tourers though. Gotta show Lynn the Rocket III tourer. Yet who knows. By the time I have $$ in hand it may well be mid 2013.

I've seen nothing on the 2012 Trophy since the initial hype a few months ago. Mums the word.

So what would a trophy look like. A Sprint/Tiger? Not sure what buzz or question really is. Has there been hard rumors about a new Triumph?

What I was told was there were new models from Triumph that will be released at the Milan show later in there year. So Im betting the Trophy will be in that line up ,not positive but they are sure working on something along those lines...

Last info I got (this was 2 or 3 months ago) was that the Mega-Tiger Adventure GS competitor will be coming out this year (in a month or so) and that the Trophy is slated for next year.

These are the only spy shots of the new Trophy and they are almost a year old. I heard from a dealer 1300cc with shaft drive. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/newsan...y/photo_01.html

Sorta reminds me of the pre Thunderbird secrecy and rumors . I guess I'll have to keep looking at what else is available and hopefully wait and make a final decision when it does hit the showrooms. I thought I really wanted a Thunderbird, but after it came out, I realized I loved my America more. Neither is a tourer. Having the best of both worlds would require two bikes.

Hey Jim! I assume you've seen this thread in the Classified section, right?!

And, Joe and just lowered the price to $9,000. Sounds like a real deal to me!

Dealer here in Daytona said that the Trophy story was a hoax and was not happening. That was sometime over the Summer.

Ya know Ryan, sometimes and somehow it seems either the dealers are the last to know about new models that'll soon be hittin' the market , OR they REALLY know that a new model IS on the way, but because they'd like to sell the bikes that are already in their showrooms, they live by the ol' "mum's the word" philosophy, which is actually what Triumph HDQ(or any manufacturer's HDQ) would like them to do.

I guess if those pics are a Trophy it would be OK. Seems to me if you liked that style you would already own a Honda ST, FJR, Concours, or a BMW fugly whatever. That design is just looking old to me. I hope they used the 1050 and didn't make a whole new motor for it. I don't see them selling a ton of them. For touring it will compete with the Rocket and the Thunderbird. Not sure how many new Triumph riders they will be getting.

Hopeing the production version resembals the recent Trophy . The chrome accents on the dash were classy and the bike was a dream to ride.....My old Trophy is patiently awaiting to be "Trodent-ized" ...Winter project maybe

That picture doesn't do that bike justice. I rode with a group to Baxters last year. One of the riders had that bike, same color, It was a work art, beautiful.

Yeah, Triumph is taking their own sweet time about the Trophy. Shoot BMW developed, tested and introduced the new 1600K in a shorter time period.

Well, got the '96 T3 Sprint Sport to "tour" for now (Bonnie-A actually is a better touring machine),,,,just gives me more time to collect aluminum cans for the new Trophy, but they really are taking their own sweet time in debuting that thing.....

I looked at the new Sprint but it's more of a sport bike than a touring bike. I would kill myself on one of those. Put bags on the TBA and tried making it a touring bike but it distracted from the original character that made me fall in love with Triumph originally. May even remove the windscreen.

Paul, I spoke to our guy (deep-throat) a few months ago and he told me that the Explorer would be out in early November (which it was) and that the Trophy was slated for next year as a 2013 model. (Edit: I just realized I mention the above further up in the thread).
It (the Trophy) would include the following :
a. "Fly-by-wire" throttle. b. Traction control. c. Electronic suspension management d. Heated seats + grips. e. Electric Windshield. f. Shaft drive.
I can't remember if these details have been mentioned here before.

Sounds good Bedouin. The thing is though, pictures of the Tiger 1200 Explorer are starting to get under my skin. It has some of the features it sounds like the Trophy is going to have. I think I'm catching the fever from Roadworthy. I already have one Explorer in the garage. Oh yeah...that ones a Ford. Hopefully the Trophy will make it out by Spring or Summer 2012 as a 2013 model.

Please note my objection to the BMW Fugly comment. Having just purchased a new BMW RT, I'm very sensitive to such remarks! BTW, I love my TBA but the RT makes the wife happy on trips. A word to the wise, don't take a test ride unless you are prepared to buy. After 2 years, I just got tired of waiting for the Trophy. Bill

Re the BMW RT's...I totally agree with ya here Bill, especially after riding Thannassis' older '96 R1100RT over 5,000 miles in Europe a couple years ago. The longer I rode it, the more "beautiful" the bike became to me.
