Thanks for the input Jason. There has got to be some people on here that have run into the same problem. I might try to call the company i bought the bars from (British Customs) tomorrow and ask them. Have a few more questions about handlebar mounted mirrors, etc.
thanks again

I put Biltwell Tackers on my 02 America last month. When I first put them on I had the same issue. You just need to toy with the throttle cables as far as where they're mounted or tied into and run and then the throttle should free up. Make sure your grip isn't binding(too far onto the bar). I actually rerouted my clutch cable also because I wanted to keep the cables closer to the bar level and not stick up.

Stock America cables run longer than Speedy ones, have you re-routed your throttle cables to the other side of the frame top spine? That will give you a few more inches right off. Also make sure your adjustments on the T. cables have a little slack. Just like the slight free play on your clutch cable. You will still be able to attain W.O.T. BTW, there is adjustment at the carbs as well, you won't gain any length, but you can dial in cable adjustment a little more there as well. Good luck.

i think if you run your cables to the left side of the tree you get some extra length.

Nice pics bell. The gators are next for me as well. I see what you are saying. I notice if a back the grip/controls off the bar more it frees right up. i will play around with it and eventually get it. I was trying to avoid re-routing the cables but if i have to i will. Still trying to figure out how to post my pics on here.

Have another question. I want to install the mirrors that mount to the bar ends. The stock bars came with a piece inside on each end to accept the end caps for the bars. These bars have nothing. Can mirrors be mounted at the ends or am i screwed? I didnt know the ends were open when i bought them. I like them so much i dont want to change them, but i really want the new mirrors. Anybody have experience with them?
thanks!

Bar end mirrors can be bought with an expansion plug type mount.

I just added bar ends to mine today. I'll post a picture later. I think they look great. I like the bars you have there.

The Biltwell's look great. Like to see how the bar ends look when you get them on.

Both style mirrors look great. I think i am partial to the round. Are those 3-1/4" dia or 2-1/4" mirrors bell?
I am trying to eventually get my bike to look like this. One day.
