Not sure if this has been a post before, but its always been of interest to me. I'd love to hear how you guys and gals came up with your screen name...I know there's a few who will have the standard answer "Duh its my name" (Robert? Chy? LarryShep?) but others will probably have an interesting story or anecdote about why they chose their handle. Pat? What the hecks a "Dinqua" haha. Gordo I can assum that Lynchphoto comes from the fact that you're a professional photographer by trade/career. Mike? Whats the MM part for? I've just often wondered over the years, seems like it might give me some insight into who you are as a person. Anyhow, it'd be interesting TO ME.... Oh yeah....my name "Tsalagi" (pronounced Sa lah gee) is ME. I'm an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, we call ourselves Tsalagi Yuwiya, means "The People". I've read the "Cherokee" comes from a distorted Choctaw word, "chalaque" that meant "cave people". Very interesting......to me haha Lee

Fuzzydragon was a nickname for my German Shepherd. Her name was Fraserglen's Falkor...my kids named her Falkor after the 'luck dragon' in the movie 'The Neverending Story.'. In the movie, Falkor was a big, fuzzy dog. Our dog 'Kory' was a great friend who adored the kids and loved to lie in the midst of them while our pet rat would crawl up her fur and sit on her head.

mine is a "duh" one - K is for my first name - Ken, and Ryder is my grandfather's last name. I use KRyder as my usual username most wherever I go on the web so I don't have to use my real name. Ken

It would violate the AUP to explain.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

give me the G version....
Brokenfixed was a punk band that I started. I came up with the name because our drummer had a piece of crap drumset that kept breaking and it was never fixed, just "brokenfixed". Any time I need an original screen name I just use that.

That's interesting because the first thing I thought of when I saw your screen name was the Tsali Recreation Area where I mountain bike (well, I haven't been out there for a while). I didn't even notice your location was near it.

I'm old for my profession: I'm a band roadie. Most kids these days call themselves techs...at 60 I call it what it is. I tour the country and set up band gear for concerts, ergo I am a roadie. The average age of the company I work with is 35 or so, I'm 60 this year, ergo I am old. oldroadie
btw mikemm03's last name begins with M and I suspect his middle does too and that's an 03 America he's riding fast and well :-)

So, ya wanna know why I use the screen name I do, eh?! Well, what else needs to be said here?!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My mother's side of the family comes from Wales (a lovely part of Great Britain) and I have been to Conwy, Wales a couple of times and just loved it. So I thought it was a good choice of "name" to use for a British designed bike. Plus, I can always tell when someone doesn't know of Conwy because they try to call me Conway...lol

The standard tuning of a guitar is EADGBe.
The 2nd e in my screen name should be lower case but I wouldn't (directly...) ask the busy Friar to change it.

Hasso was the name we gave my arch nemesis in east germany when I was in intel and working in and around berlin....also being part native american, I think it's okay to honor a good enemy for being just that. So, with east germany just a memory, I chose Hasso because, while he was my enemy, he was very good at what he did and earned my respect.
...you're gonna feel a little pressure....

B was for Burnt a nickname some of my friends called me when I was younger. Carnage was another nickname other friends called me when i was younger. Both are just plays on my name Brent Carnes. I used it as a moniker for years in punk bands. Now it us just about always my screen name and email address.

it was the bike shop club that I rode with, but they decided to disband after the Triumph was taking all the attention away from their choppers

The part that is hidden eddy1016 my name and birthday, what you all see (changed in the system so as not to be confusing) fasteddy
A name I was given in 8th grade when I was running track. I ran the Mile, one of my buddies was running the 440 yard dash for the first time and was afraid to run it alone so he asked if I would run with him. He should not have because I beat him and took first (he took second) I then went on to run the mile a short time later and won that too!
In a class the next day for extra points on current events another friend announced that "Fast Eddy Hofstrand" won both races against a rival town. That was 1971 I think...it stuck.

Heck Eddy, I was thinking you rode flat track back in the day. Yeah, with pics of you in the snow and such proving you are a bit wild and crazy! (prerequisite for flat tracking)

In computer lingo it's my 5-2. The five is for the last name "Lyles" and first two of Donald "do" ergo "lylesdo". Incidentally, Lyles is an old scotish surname, Donald is Scotish Gaelic meaning "ruler of the world". Kind of fitting for a Triumph wouldn't you say.

Was an Air Intercept Controller in the Navy. My assigned call sign was Iron Horse (instructors gave me that due to the car I drove at the time, (a 1968 Charger, 3/4 race cam ready to go). Later shortened to Horse while attending Topgun. Here I reverted to Iron Horse, but use the elemental symbol for Iron - Fe. Hence FeHorse. You'll see it elsewhere on the web also.

Well back in the stone age when I joined the sight I was asked for a name. Not being clever enough to come up with anything snappy on the spot I looked around and saw our beloved black lab Lucy laying in a massive heap near near my feet...yup, 'blackdog' was born. Have been asked if it was a salute to Led Zeppelin but once again not that clever.

Well being a bit of a freak, I like things German, and during my time with my first 2 employers was in Bavaria in southern Germany fairly often, as well as Switzerland, and frankly loved the hell out of it. Bavaria in German is "Bayern". Also, being even more of a freak, I loved submarines, served in them, and so liking German, speaking German, and having served on the USS Augusta(SSN-710) I took the "U" from "Unterseeboot" which German for submarines and was used as the first letter in U-boat numbering in WW2, combined with 710, which was the number of the boat I was on, hence BayernU710. That's me in a NUT-house-shell....

I was on the Triumph Trophy site originally where I went by Phantom3brg, being a USAF retiree I used the names of the birds that I worked on. The Phantom is the F-4C/E fighters,(3)three cylinder and British Racing Green. As for my TBA, it is named after the SR-71 that I worked at Beale AFB,Black snake(HA-BU) and the BA is for Bonnie America. Robert
