Who knows the name of this drink and where it came from w/out looking it up? Be honest. ( It will also give away your taste in music ) 2 parts Crown + 2 parts Segrems 7, Splash of coke = ?? (face meets floor fast) or you can cut the parts in 1/2 for the timid.

Hmmm. Why mix Crown and Seagrams 7? If you want nasty Canadian whisky just use Black Velvet.

hum I thought that, what you are talking about only had Canadian whiskey with enough cola to make it black and served as a shot. I didn't know it had to be crown and seagrams.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29ZB1QXCn5cTHE BLACK TOOTH GRIN is a drink invented by Darrell Lance Abbott, also known as "Diamond Darrell", and "Dimebag Darrell" (August 20, 1966 – December 8, 2004) {RIP} The name was taken from the song SWEATING BULLETS by MEGADEATH _ hence the vid hint- I like the dementia guess, ill used that for another drink that needs a name. [tequilla, and orange peach mango juce] thanks all for playing

Bourbon. Good bourbon. Not radiator fluid like Jim Beam. Definitely not rot gut like Jack Daniels (not a bourbon, anyway). Maker's Mark. Wellers is good (MM and Wellers are wheat bourbons, most are rye). For the cost conscious (me), Elijah Craig is a nice bourbon. Mix it with ice. Guys don't ask a busy bartender to make them a mixed drink. You can lose your man card for that.

Jack Daniels technically isn't bourbon, it's sour mash whiskey as is Jim Beam.

For a whiskey to qualify as bourbon, the law--by international agreement--stipulates that it must be made in the USA. It must be made from at least 51% and no more than 79% Indian corn, and aged for at least two years. (Most bourbon is aged for four years or more.) The barrels for aging can be made of any kind of new oak, charred on the inside. Nowadays all distillers use American White Oak, because it is porous enough to help the bourbon age well, but not so porous that it will allow barrels to leak. It must be distilled at no more than 160 proof (80% alcohol by volume). Nothing can be added at bottling to enhance flavor or sweetness or alter color. The other grains used to make bourbon, though not stipulated by law, are malted barley and either rye or wheat. Some Kentucky bourbon makers claim that the same limestone spring water that makes thoroughbred horses' bones strong gives bourbon whiskey its distinctive flavor. Kind of like that "it's the water" thing with Olympia beer.
Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniel's is dripped slowly - drop-by-drop - through ten feet of firmly packed charcoal (made from hard sugar maple) before going into new charred oak barrels for aging. This special process gives Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey its rare smoothness. It's this extra step - charcoal mellowing – that makes Jack Daniel's a Tennessee Whiskey. American as apple pie and a testament to quality, tradition and passion, Jim Beam® is the best-selling brand of bourbon in the world. Seven generations of craftsmanship go into every bottle, along with corn, rye, barley malt, water, time and pride.
Jim Beam is a brand of bourbon whiskey. It is currently one of the best selling brands of bourbon in the world. Since 1795 (interrupted by Prohibition), seven generations of the Beam family have been involved in whiskey production. Their brand was given the name "Jim Beam" in 1933 in honor of James B. Beam, who rebuilt the business after Prohibition ended. The company produces several varieties of bourbon and whiskey, as well as food products that include bourbon as an ingredient.

Whisky (literally in the Gaelic, "water of life") comes from Scotland.
Whiskey is just the primer for the barrels.

Thanks for that info. Now I recall that Jack Daniels is actually bourbon prior to the charcoal filtering, it was explain on How It's Made TV show. I'm not an expert on how it's made, just on how to drink it, on the rocks or with water or straight out of a flask. Never with coke!

Sorry, at my age I need to remember to wear my glasses. Problem is I can't find them if they're too close to me.

As far as mixed drinks go, my favorite is equal parts kahlua, vodka and peppermint schnaps.

If I mix a drink it's a VO and diet coke. Usually, I like my scotch neat... perhaps with a minor splash of water to wake it up. If it's brown liquor I drink Gentlemen Jack neat.

I like a Tom Collins, but replace gin with whiskey. Pretty good. Scotch neat. Martini perfect that with equal parts sweet and dry Vermouth and an olive. Bloody mary spicy. I can't think of what they are called but they are little white stones you put in the freezer to use in place of ice. So melted ice don't water down the drink.

You can ask for a cocktail at a busy bar just not a blender drink just remember to tip well. Even if you are running a tab tip at each service.

The Jack Daniels distilery in Lynchburg TN. About an hours ride south-east of Nashville. If you havent been there it is well worth the visit. Fasinating place and the tour guides are real characters. Just remember that the JD Distilery is in a Dry County so you cannot taste the stuff.

I'll drink it if I've had a drink or two of the good stuff first. On a clean palate, not so much.
