On July 27th we had record rainfall here along the Illinois/Wisconson border. 14 inches in less than 12 hours. I woke up about 1:30 in the morning to see the whole block flooded, about three feet of water around my garage and water filling my basement. Both my Thruxton and Speed Triple were in water up to the headlights. Both totaled by the insurance company. As "luck"? would have it my ATK was up on the lift table and only got the wheels wet. I guess i'll be thrashing my old enduro bike around until i can find another Triumph that i like as much as i did my Thruxton.

There's a new law here in the people's republik of illinois, I can't buy the bikes back from the insurance company. I was told that any bike under nine years old that is "totalled" falls under this law. The insurance company has to take possession of them and send them to a licenced salvage company. They will be coming up on the salvage company's auction site. crashedtoys.com I was tempted to not file a claim on the Thruxton and repair it myself. unfortunately with trying to salvage all the tools and equipment that wasn't insured i just didn't have time.

I agree with Ian. Drain the engine, get some oil in the cylinders after pulling the plugs, dry out the electrics (probably need a few relays, the odd switch and your on the road with a few bucks in your pocket. Oh, and sorry about the flood

Damn Gary, that's a shame. Sorry for your losses there,
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.
