My new son in law, is an avid fisherman (as am i , he gets some points there) and as i and a few geezers wasnt at his stag in Vegas(lost a few points there),he organised a jet boat trip up the Fraser for some Sturgeon fishing. heres the biggest of the day  its an 8 footer,never been tagged and probably around 60 to 70 years old .what a fight the kid had reeling that sucker in . he was pretty much done the rest of the day after that heh heh .the catcher 2nd from left (no hat)my S o L 2nd from right(green hat). http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u177/celt_photos/ not finished yet but ......

Fishin aint about fishin sonny boy. Its about spinnin the yarn. Tellin the tale. Most us fishermen aint been fishin in years, an Jack o'er there aint ne'r been fishin. So ya gotter do better'in show a picher o' a big dern fish.
Sorry that's one big fish must have been fun yankin that one in.

omg i have seen and caught some big sturgeon but nothin that big!!! and knowing how they can put up a fight that is something. usually i see fish that size that that come from the ocean. very nice my friend, very nice indeed!!

Was down on the river bank one night this summer when my line went crazy,set that hook and fought that thing fer about 20 minutes.Wasn't that big but I'm no longer a sturgeon virgin.

That's quite a fish Gordie, Not far from where I grew up, folks would sit in a shanty, stare into a dark hole & spear them through the ice. An activty not unlike watching the Packers of the 70's  jh

That fish is downright preshitoric.
I've also seen some big ones pulled out of the Gasconade and Missouri Rivers here in Mo. but that is huge.

I was fishing with the kids (4 and 7) for sunfish and perch a couple of years ago at a local locks. A young kid, no more than 10 was also fishing for sunfish but hooked into a 5 foot sturgeon. Of course he wasn't able to land it on light line but did get it to the surface for a good look. Made his day.
