Does anyone have their GPSwire hardwired on their bikes? I mean without a cigarette lighter. I already have the lightbars added and modded my turnsignals into running lights. Which circuit should I hook into?

Blinkers so it comes on and goes off when the switch is on. Ok just kidding you could run hard to the battery with a fuseable link if your GPS is 12 volt.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Run the power cable under your tank directly to the battery. The Garmin (zumo) comes with an sae type cord. You will need a sae pigtail for your battery. btw, the battery tender pigtails are just the ticket...

I purchased the Nuvi 550 and added a charger for hardwiring to the battery (plug on one end, + - wires on the other). Just not sure if it still draws power from the battery once I disconnect the GPS.

The cradle will always be hot. There will be no electric current draw if nothing is resting in the cradle. My zumo cradle is always hot.

What do you mean by "the cradle"?
I will probably connect to the Accessory outlet (which is always hot) and run the wire under the tank. I should have enough wire on the other end to stuff into the headlight when not in use.

He prolly means the mounting cradle contacts for the GPS...
I've been thinking of powering one right off the Deltran battery tender SAE connector. All that's needed is a load-side SAE connector to be wired into the GPS power cord.
