Can anyone tell me from this pic what kind of exhaust I have? (I know it was put on post-factory, but that's all I know) - no apparent markings that I have found....(okay - I haven't looked *That* hard). It's louder than a honda, but not loud like a straight pipe. I'm trying to determine if I can modify it to make it somewhat louder - and maybe shorten the pipes a little. All that would be easier if I knew what I had.

The Triumph Long Off Road Exhaust should have markings on them that say "For Offroad Use Only"

no markings. I actually looked harder. Crawled around underneath and everything....interesting. I'll have to put a flashlight inside and see what there is to see.

They are either TORs (Triumph Off Road) or stock pipes. I forget which models had the slash cuts OEM. Could be the OEM if there are no "For Off Road Use only" markings.

Im pretty confident they are one of the above due to the shape, position and the fact that they have a heat shield.

hmm....maybe they're the stock pipes then. there were other pipes (that looked pretty beat up) in a box that the dealer had - they were supposedly the stock pipes (this had been a trade-in) - I sold him the beat up pipes in the box for 100.00, since I couldn't really get them home from PA to VA on the bike anyway.

Not sure but to me the look like the stock long slash cuts that are on my 07 SM. There is a post on how to debaffle them. (which will diffinatly make them LOUDER. maybe he got stock pipes from a later model and put them on "aftermarket" because he liked them better. (this is an 02 TBA). that could make some sense. I'll check out the link. Thanks, Leithal.

They look like my TORs to me. The markings are kinda hard to see, with small letters in a light stamping on the right, underneath, side of the bike(exhaust).

I found a part number!! A9600061 (I'd been looking at the right hand pipe mostly, for clues - the left hand pipe actually had a part number on it in a place I could only see when all the way under the bike) - apparently this part number is a:

"triumph silencer long chrome (left hand) pipe".

they both look the same inside - which is to say, there is nothing in them for the first 12-15 inches or so - then there's a baffle.

I don't know anything about these pipes. But they're definitely not silent. They have a nice pop,pop,pop,pop sound to them. I'd just like a little more rumble.

If anyone knows anything about this particular exhaust and cares to share, I'd love to hear it.

It is for the Off Road pipe. Not stock.

FWIW, when I wear my full helmet, I can hear the bike just fine (I know - duh) - and she actually sounds pretty nice at speed. Maybe I'll just leave her alone for now....decisions decisions.

Howdy Hasso, Triumph mad a few different versions of "their "off rod pipes"
Here is an east fix. Pull one exhaust pipe off. Real simple
loosen the clamp on the pipe at the foot peg area. Now remove the rear passenger peg mount, two bolts. Wiggle the pipe and slide it off. Look in the header side of the pipe you took off. If you see a reducer cone with three tack welds and about a 3/4-1 inch opening you need to remove it.
This will allow the engine to breath better and give you some real Triumph "noise" If there is not a cone there the pipes are as loud as they can get without completely gutting them.
Best way to remove the cone is drill three or four holes around the tack welds. Run a 1" piece of galvanized pipe through from the other end and punch it out.It's real easy.
Now add some sealant(I prefer Red RTV) to the inside edge of the pipe. Reassemble, let set overnight. Ride and enjoy.

hasso, if the bike is currently running good the slight mod I suggested would not require any jetting.

cool - it runs well. low end seems a little weak to me - but I have nothing to compare it to. high end is awesome. gets some pop on decelleration. I wish i knew who I bought it from - instead of at a dealer - I'd have a lot of questions.

well - no reducer cone. I'm really trying to avoid a rejet (not sure why, frankly - just unfamilar territory). So, anyone with ideas on good rumbly pipes that I can slip on in place of the TOR's and not need a rejet, I'm all ears - so to speak.
