I have an '02 america with a heel toe shifter and floorboards. I bought the bike used and that's how it came. I didn't like the heel toe shifter and I managed to jury rig it so that it's primarily a toe shifter. I would like to put a stock shifter pedal back on the bike and keep the floorboards. Has anyone ever gone back to the stock shifter? If yes, is it a matter of just bolting the stock shifter back on the floorboard existing hardware? Much thanks for any ideas.

I rode like that for a while. Should be pretty cut an dry when you get your toe shifter. Easy peasy.

We had a member years ago (may still be here, can't remember his name) who shortened the peg and rubber bit by about half on the rear side, so that it wasn't as much in the way, but it was still usable.

Well you said 'any ideas'...

that would be LarryShep. i have one of his creations and use the modified HT
shifter with pegs;gotridofthosestinkinfloorboards.
i use the heel portion pretty often when
coming forward from my mid pegs--using the heel portion with my toe.

Frank, I've been thinkin bout replacing my toe shifter with a rocker. I was curious about the issue you had with the rocker style shifter....was it uncomfortable/difficult to operate?
