Looks like there are few of us "Military Retiree's" on board, but how many Hams (Amatuer Radio Operators)? Just curious? 73's Larry KJ7FH
I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

Understand that. I have 2 HF antenna's vertually on the ground. How can I fix them when there's riding to do? Besides it's a rule the you don't work on antenna's in "good" wx. -.-

You've got that right. There have been many times that during natural disasters, heavy storms, hurricans, etc. remote areas rely on ham radio for their ONLY comunications. Cells serve nothing more than paper weights. Even if cells are still working ( which many times they don't), the phone lines get jammed up with people trying to get a hold of freinds, relatives to let them knw they are all right or in deep trouble. Just a side note: amatuer radio was the first form of digital communications.
