Is it Fishing . Went fishing with a couple of friends this week 1st time in 30years . Found my old gear in the loft. Rod ok.But Rest of gear no good, Reel stuck solid,Weights lead type not allowed, Hooks rusty, Floats paint flaky. So borrowed what I needed off my mate, just in case I didnt like fishing. But had to get a rod licence on line for £27 . Told to get luncheon meat and cheese. Ready to go. Went to a local fisheries which has about 4 small lakes . Paid the £7 day ticket. Went and picked out a purpose built swim and set up. Spent the day there and caught about 18 fish .From 2lb to a 9.7lb Carp. Had a great day. But is it Fishing . Half of me thought I was fishing in my mates pond. Didn't need to much experience .Saw a guy with a model boat which he put the ground bait and his float and hook on the back . Sent it to where he wanted to fish .Flicked a switch and dropped his hook etc. Brought the boat back and waited . What next a camera on the hook . Saying all this I had a great day out with a couple of beers .Don't think I would have been so happy if I hadn't caught anything. So maybe it is better going to a place that is stocked with fish rather than a river etc. All nets have to be dipped in a tank to stop any contamination getting in the lakes. It was a week day and 30/40 people fishing so its big business.I Shall go again tho YEP atb geoff

It's been said "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work".

A good day fishing....

It seems like river or salt water fishing is close at hand for you guys, I don't why ya went to a fish farm. Yea its still fishing, I can understand the question, like shooting fish in a barrel. At least ,like the others said, you weren't working.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
