Can not remember whether Frank did a post on this or not. If you require shims Chris at Precision Shims in Melbourne is the man-cheaper than Triumph and will grind to the same specs as Triumph supply-very quick service and excellent to deal with-rides a bike himself.

Asked about shims at JCS in Perth. They didn't have any, but the ole fella at the service counter reckoned the lil flat washers in Meccano sets work well.

Please explain.

When did they start making Triumphs out of Meccano.

Hey Kent,
Have you or Frank used Precision Shims yet and if so can you give us an idea on turnaround times for shims and the costing?
I reckon mine will be due for it's 12,000 miles shim job around Christmas time this year. I already know the shims are out when I checked them a few months ago when I was replacing my rocker box gasket.
Thanks
John Q

Oh, sorry Kent. I've had Carby shims on the brain for the last few weeks, trolling various forums for info. Seeing your post on shims, I didn't even think. Doh.

Have used Precision shims John-good service and very quick to supply-ground the shims to the measurements I requested and 5 dollars a shim cheaper that Triumph-soon adds up when you have 7 out of whack and can only reuse one.
See ya next week!
