My son turned 15 yesterday. Today, I took the day off of work and took him to DMV to get his driving permit. He scored a 97% on the written test. Afterwards, he got his first driving lesson. There is an empty parking lot near by and I had him drive around for an hour or so. He still has a long ways to go, especially with the whole clutch thing. But, I'm pretty proud of him.

My son got his license this past January. I don't see him much these days.

My daughter gets her license in January, and she's insisting on having motorcycle entitlement on it

Hey Soren! Allstate(or was that State Farm?) just called and they asked if you'd mind heading over to the Beaverton Medical Center for a simple little procedure? (...somethin' about the amputation of one arm and one leg, I think it was!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Good for you for teaching him how to drive a manual! It's becoming a lost art, but it should be a requirement for getting a license.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Glad I'm not you.
I don't think I could cope with that.
At least not during the first couple decades of the learning curve.
And you may see me tonight

I just had a daughter get her licence in June. she drives auto ,,, but as soon as I can get her '73 Super Beatle running, she will learn stick. she did get a few parking lot runs in b4 it stopped. (carb and starter need rebuilt!) Oh an at 17 days of 100+ degrees,, 2x35 air is not appealing to her. LOLOL As the shop that replaced her WHOLE under carriage said "Well, the good part is its all original,,,, The bad part is,,,, its all original!"
