That's a job I never want to do again, allthough the results were fantastic. Took 'bout an hour and a half, then went for a ride to see how it sounded (it's 17 deg here, very short ride). Tools needed, Drill, couple of 1/4 in drill bits(only broke 1), a BFH, a bigger BFH. Fanfreakintastic. Drew blood, but nothing broken, that's a good job. Over the first hurdle, now where to go? AI I suppose.

AI removal's a lot easier than baffle removal. You jumped in at the deep end

i did my job with a slide hammer and a special little hook i made up. Took about 10-15 mins each side. A few decent jolts and the spot welding gave way

Hey Glen, saw you were from Victoria, me too. Can you give me a bit more detail on what you did to your pipes. I've got an 05 Speedmaster and want to get some decent sound out of the original pipes. Once you did your pipes did you have to do anything to the carbies?

Thanks for the feedback Adey. Didn't mean to cramp your style. Same name, same bike, must be intelligent and good looking too i'd say..

Just the very end set. Washer type thingy gizmo that was on the end of the muffler/silencer, and the tube that was connected to that, then the next washer type thingy gizmo.
No packing came out, or can be seen, so I didn't go in that far. I just stopped where I was because I liked the sound.

I just finished doing the rear one as well. I am thinking about removing the next baffle as well or just drilling a few holes. Any suggestions?

You've got to remove the AI, I ran my bike the first 500 miles with it connected and the headers already started to blue. After removing the AI it stopped and hasn't gone any further, so i only have just a little blueing at the very top. If anyones going with the Epco's they will turn Goldish with the AI hooked up. I'm not the expert on this , but in my opinion by experience the AI really heats up the exhaust.

If it can't be bought, I'll make it. If it can be bought i'll make it anyway!
