I'm wondering if there are other riders in Louisiana who might want to join up for a group ride.

Good question. What do you all think? (here I go asking for feed back again) . On the one hand if we stay at a little mom and pop place in El Dorado Springs we can just fall out of bed and be first in line for the rides at the dealer. If we stay in Nevada there are more places to eat. I think I'll call the C & H and see if there are any good restaraunts there and how much they charge for a room. Stay tuned.

As soon as you report back I'll book a room. I'm sure there are plenty of places to eat in El Dorado Springs.

The only place I have eaten in EDS is a chinese restaurant kind of accross the street from the hotel. But don't think chinese for breakfast would work too well.

In Eldorado For breakfast all you really have is a couple small diners or your regular Mcdonalds and such. They have a really good BBQ place for dinner

Okay I think we should go with the C&H Hotel in ElDorado Springs for Thursday night 9/22. http://www.cnhmotel.com/ He said the Eldorado Cafe serves breakfast and they also have some barbecue grills if we want to cook outside that night. It has been just remodeled, Double room is $52.99. I've booked a triple. Call Gary at (417) 876-5757. Now I'm starting to get psyched.

Dan, As best I can tell on Thursday night 9/22. http://www.cnhmotel.com/ in El Dorado Springs, Friday ride Triumphs from the Triumph truck at El Do Springs Cycle then ride to Harrison to spend Friday and Saturday nights at the Hub http://hubinfo.com/. Saturday ride to be determined but given the area there are no bad rides. Troy

43 days. What about Saturday's ride? I'm thinking South US 65 to AR 66 E. to Mountain View, AR 9 N. to Ar5 N. to Mt. Home for lunch. E. 178 around Bull shores Lake then back to Harrison on US 62. Can someone figure out how long that would take on their computer? It might not be long enough. If not we could stretch it out.

Google maps says: Harrison to Mountain View - 78.1 mi, 1 hour 33mins To Mountain Home - 127 mi, 2 hours 41 mins To Bull Shoals - 143 mi, 3 hours 5 mins Back to Harrison - 185 mi, 4 hours 0 mins
Times are cumulative - 4 hours total ride time
Of course that doesnt include stops

Ah, I see... you never can tell with those super twisted back roads down there, going 70 miles could actually take an hour and a half!

I happened to be in northern AR over the weekend. I checked out some of the twisties in my pickup. Sure wished I had my bike.

Your kidding, right Dave? Last year to Magazine and back it was almost 9am to 9pm. What did we cover almost...300 miles? That might have been Friday's ride though, and it involved a battery malfunction. Hey I can shorten it for you older fellows, though. Seriously though, nothing is set in stone, I am open to suggestions, I realize some will have a long trip back home on Sunday I think we could trim an hour off the ride easliy if we took some short cuts.

Haha, yeah I was gonna bring that up... 300 mile days and not getting back for dinner until 9 or so. Saturdays ride got back even later than Fridays last year! Distance doesn't bother me as long as we get some of those great twisted roads!

Here is a route that I had started putting together (map link at bottom). AR 341 (AKA Push Mountain Road) is pretty highly rated ride, along with 125, 14, etc. We could add the Bull Shoals Dam to Flippin ride on 178 or go to Yellville on 202. I haven't been over some of these roads in several years but had thought about doing some scouting (if it stays in the low 90s for a while) or even taking my sporty car if it goes back to the 110s. I don't think we can pick a bad ride over there even if we tried. Just a matter of how much riding time and what type of roads we are looking to ride. We could even ride through Jasper am or pm if the Ozark Cafe was a desired meal stop. http://mapq.st/qkAeEW

Sounds good to me, Troy. You know the area better then I do. I'm getting little tired of the Ozark Cafe though. Seems to me it is overpriced and overrated. Just my opinion.

Ok. Let me do a little scouting in the area. I lived near MH for 15 years but has been a few years since I have spent much time in the area. I pretty much agree about Ozark Cafe but don't know of other places in that area. Of course the Hub has a restaurant but since it is kind of out in the boonies a bit we may get tired of every meal there. Surely there is someplace around that would work.
If anyone has an idea on how far and/or how much riding time we should plan for please let me know. Lots of alternative routes we can take.
