I'm not sure how loud some of these other pipes are but I have bubs and have pulled the baffles out a few times for one reason or another.... when I started the bike my eyes popped out of my head! then take it down the road and it made women and children run for cover....ridiculous !!! if your looking for attention ?? this will do it but it might not always be the attention you may want. Also this level of db's will only leave a ring in your head that won't go away ! With the baffles in these pipes are sweeeeeet sound the way this bike should sound. The nice thing is when you get where your going you can still here what everone is saying about you ...

If it isn't broke ...break it ! then you'll have something to do !

for Bub owners, try this, pull baffel, cut prferated tube at the 1/2 way mark wrap some glass just at the back end of perforation and safty wire so it stays put. It will sound throaty and deep, and plenty loud when given the gas but at idle it wont wake the neighbors. Ill be pulling them again real soon so I will take pictures.

Well I'm running a set on my traveling bike and at cruise they are very quiet with a nice civilized growl on accel. They are of complete Stainless construction and seem well built. Almost identical in noise level to the short TOR slashcuts they replaced, evidently they flow better than TOR s as I had to jet to 130 s and I'm still a froghair lean. Evidently they aren't that popular or more folks would be running them. Surprised to learn that.

What he said. But for $1200.00 U.S., not many are going to get to hear them. Most won't ever even see a pair in person to be able to appreciate the excellent build quality. They are beautiful pieces.

Appreciably loud on roll-on, yet unobtrusive at speed. Good upgrade over stock, but much tamer than the long TORs.

I feel very fortunate to have Staintunes on my '09 - they were on her when I found her, and I didn't even know enough about them to realize what a find that was at the time.

My '04, with the TORs, is the "rowdy" bike, and hard to beat for sh*ts and grins - it's real hard to not act like a hooligan on her.

But the '09, she's a little more polished, yet moves out quite well. I'm sure the '09 would outperform the '04, having the bigger displacement and EFI advantage, but the '04 is still the favorite of the two.

I have to agree with Steve. Just put long Tor's on my 13 America. Would not want them any louder. PERFECT.

Does anyone know if they make Long TORs for a 2005 TBA (carb) or are they made just for EFIs?

Yes, TORs were made for all the years of carbed Spdys/Americas in long and short versions.

Search EBay: triumph America, Tri. Spdmstr, Tri. Bonne. America, + slip ons, silencers and exhaust. Very possible some member on here has a set they are willing to part with as well. Post your needs in the classifieds. Patience is the key to finding what you want. I wanted Staintunes and after roughly a year of searching, I got my set for $175 plus shipping. Triumph TORS are a lot easier to find than S.Tunes and the prices do vary a lot. Plus, you can always gut your baffles on your existing exhausts if you can't wait, a lot of members seem perfectly satisfied with the reduced restriction and noise level doing that too.
