Did you get any close up pics of that guys carb set-up Dave?
Some of the earlier model Triumphs tend to have a heat problem where they have their carb connected to the head via an alloy manifold. On a really hot day, the heat from the heat radiates through the alloy to the carb and begins to boil off the fuel in the Amal carb bowl. Looks like this guy has some type of rubber hose connection rather than the OEM alloy manifold. Would love to find out how the bike runs with his carbs so far from the head?

Those look like flat slide CRs and the longer manifold is just to clear the tank with an unseen carb support at the side cover. I'll bet that baby flies.
