Map Ok here's the run, sorry guys I used the dreaded mapquest program The plan is to leave Knoxville early-thirty , ride to Copperhill, Tn for early lunch 11:00ish at El Rio Mexican " a favorite" Back up 68 to Tellico Plains, dang have to ride 68 twice. Meet up at the Cherohala Market for gas. Leaving Tellico Plains for the Skyway around 1:00. From Robbinsville ride the Dragon to Maryville, back to Knoxville around 6:00ish.

Yep, I'm on tour with Jason Aldean all year (except next weekend). He's on summer vacation at the beach with his kids so I'm going to Warner Robbins AFB to do a show with the Air Force Band and Wynonna July 1st and then we continue on to Biloxi for a casino show the 2nd.
The work's good but it sure puts riding time at a premium (I'll probably be out over 200 days again this year.)

I grew up in Warner Robins. If you've never been there, you should definitely check out the Museum of Aviation that's on the base there. Very cool stuff!

Looks like I'll have two pups in tow. My son and a friend. Two early twenty somethings. So the ride will be a bit on the conservative side, nice and easy. Just throwing that out there.

I've NEVER been more than 200 ft. above sea level, and I'm jetted accordingly.
Would being over 5K higher have a noticeable effect on performance?
In other words, would I need to re-jet before going?
And you may see me tonight

Erle, You'll be fine as only a short part of the run is over 4000 ft. above sea level.

Darn, I wish I'd seen this earlier...I would have headed west to meet up with you all. Instead, I went north and rode in the Virginia mountains this weekend. I hope you guys had a great ride; it was beautiful in Va. I'm always amazed at the temperature difference when you get a little elevation; I went from stifling mid-90's here to almost-chilly in the mesh jacket by the time I got to the Fancy Gap area.

Will, you didn't miss much. Traffic was terrible the whole day, we're talkin 20-25 mph. Of course the company was great and it's always good to be in the wind. We'll put another one together in the fall. Take care

Mike, What do you think about trying to do something the weekend of August 5~7? That's my next weekend off.

I'm thinkin' we could hook up in Athens and wind our way over to Fall Creek Falls state park and take a ride south over Monteagle...dealer's choice after that: if there's time drop off into Stevenson do a loop around the Little River Canyon and trace the ridge back to Chattanooga, or, drop off into Jasper and trace the Tn. River back toward K-town.
Fall Creek Falls is a little corner of Tennessee I've never been in and I want to see it.

Sounds good to me. I'll always remember a trip to Fall Creek years ago. I hiked to the falls wearing my riding gear. Leather vest, boots and a union jack bandana on my head. As I'm walking through the woods back to parking area I see a young family headed to the falls. Dad is carrying his daughter on his shoulders, she was about 3. As I approached them she pointed at me and said " look dad a pirate" Out of the mouth of babes
Put a route together and we'll be there

This is around 275 miles, a nice mountains and valleys loop bypassing Chattanooga but staying close to the Tennessee valley. Once I get all of the route numbers I'll start a new Rides and Rallies thread.
