Maybe a cut or pinched wire going to the instruments? I'd have a look in the headlight bucket anyway looking for bare spots on the harness.

Do you mean the three yellow wire plug coming from the stator?

But #5... that's big one (15A). It's assigned to the instruments, igniter unit, and starter relay. I'd start with investigating the starter relay terminals. It's easy to get to check for problems such as corrosion or bad connections. Then migrate to the instruments (headlight bucket as suggested above) and finally the igniter unit although I can't see THAT blowing fuses.

Fuse no5 is on ignition circuit, check ignition switch, emergency cut out switch on right handle bar and alarm system if you have one. thats the only places I can see that this fuse feeds.

Could be loose wires inside any of these or some moisture getting in.

I posted a copy of the wiring diagram under "heated wiring grips" on april 2, 2011. I can't post a link as I am on a puter that has got copy + paste blocked.
