If I had had to have made my living as a sales guy, I would have starved to death long ago.

But sleeping, not a problem.

Just the sweet sound of them Screaming Eagles will do it all the time.

Did you ever post a picture, Frank? All this talk makes me want to see it. You could post it here.

I think the Fat Bob looks pretty bad ass also.

sounds similar to the Heritage Softtail I rented in San Francisco and tried to take on the PCH

I tried the Softail first. Great comfort for 2 up, but kept scraping.

So I compromised with the Dyna, you can't have everything.

If the Thunderbird was air cooled I would have gone that way.

Hey F-johnYou seem to have little tighter grip on knowledge of these harleys, and what they are about, please don't send me to the harley forum, .theres an awful lot of egos over there to deal with, If you were like me, and you had never ridden a Harley , what would you test ride,to be a first one, to see if I liked them well enough to take the plunge.
I may redo one [Harley]this winter, but no nothing about what i would look for.
If you can give me YOUR--idea would you? I would be grateful.
I've had everything known to man to ride on in bikes -but never had a harley, i'm serious .thanks friar
The only thing i have been told; is Don't get a wrecked fxst because the whole frame twists on them in an accident

I'm not really the Harley guy. I've ridden a few before the Softail but they were before I had any real riding experience and I was doing everything I could to keep them upright. Well, there was my buddy's chopper but that thing was a high-compression, rigid-rear, rigid-seat beast. I guess a dyna would be the first to try. I wouldn't bother with a sportster. I'm kinda curious about the V-rod, mostly because the diehard Harley guys hate it. If I was going to a Harley demo day I'd head for the Rocker C or Road Glide.

I accompanied some friends to a Harley stealership in Great Falls yesterday and I was admiring the dual headlight setup they have on some of the bikes. It's a one-piece unit that would be pretty easy to adapt to a Triumph. I wonder if it comes in black?

Well sure. But I bet a new set costs more than a pretty penny. Would be nice if it was already black.

Correct again John. Have a look at this Ebay link.

Dual Headlight for Wide Glide.

I can't see ebay at work, but I was thinking more along the lines of a couple of these, with my own fabbed up bracket:

http://goo.gl/43PND

Basically I was going to rip off the bracket design of the discontinued dual headlights from Thunderbike down your way...

I did find the harley ones...

That would be the way to go.

Harley dual lights are over $300. Lot of cash for 2 lights in one moulding.

A friend loaned one to me for a month, a 06 Heritage Softail. It was the catalyst that brought me back into the Trumpet fold. It was like driving a school bus.
