Thanks for the quick response. My question wasn't meant to criticise. I Really like the initial bike and although the finished product is not my taste I can appreciate the style. I wasn't sure if it was some kind of registration issue wherein you had to start with a registered bike.... or something. Still a shame to lose the black bike but you got the bike you want in the end...... that is until you decide to rebuild it again.

Mike you are a very talented individual, obviously with a lot of design experience. I really applaud your attention to detail. The oil cooler plumbing was pretty cool, too, as are the bars. I really like those bars, man! And that wicked seat. I would not know how even to specify a particular rake, or why, on a frame head. You obviously knew exactly what you wanted and where you were going with it. Very well done.

Nice, very nice, you did very well And not at all what I expected from the source bike so it's even better.

OK - Soapbox time: This is why I love this site, the folks and the bikes. The passion and the creativity is inspiring if not just plain awe-striking. Every once in a while, you get to see something on this BBS which simply captivates. Mike, you have done amazing things here...

thanks for all the kind words from everyone. just an update and the bike is running great. i've put about 2,000 miles on her since the build. It's running like a top. I did change out the headlamp for a bigger unit and went to torsion seat springs. other than that bike is still the same and is real treat to ride. i can't believe how smooth these engines are..
everyone stay-tuned cause i have another build coming. i'll do a better job of documenting it. thanks all.

Two more Florida boys?! I had NO idea! One a "Newb", since '05 !!! And one a talented builder, who appears close enough for me to "Hi-jack" his bike for a joy ride! Excellent!

wow what an epic F*&king bike. I love the brake cylinders. Such beauty in the details!
