Help! I put on WWW's which required going to a 120/90-18 on the front. Upon final install (with the fender extensions per diesgn found elsewhere on this forum, I took the bike around the block for a "light" test ride. Getting back to the garage I smelled burning rubber (not normally good ). Found white wall particles all over the right side of the bike. Problem is the tire is rubbing on the right side fender brace. Attempted to adjust the alignment and took her around the block again. This time, the brace had actually scoured some of the black wall off about 3/4 around the tire! Hadn't heard nor seen similar problems noted here so thought I'd seek some advice. Any suggestions??? Help!

I'm speeding because I have to get there before I forget where I was going.

I cut the center section of the the fender mount off, leaving only the sides to mount the fender to. It will not compromise the structural integrity of the forks. Put a grinder to it!

That's what I had come up with. more the concern is why it's rubbing on just part of the tire? Thanks!

That's strange. When I had my WWWs... after extending the fender brackets by about 1" I had no rubbing at all.

Got the center sections cut our on both sides. Got the clearance I need now. THANKS for the info! Works good. If anyone goes for the bigger tires up front (120/90-18) make SURE you have good clearance on BOTH sides BEFORE taking her "around the block"!!!

Glad you got it sorted out, Larry. I'm still perplexed however as to why you had problems and I didn't when we both mounted the exact same tire!
